Student’s Participation in Agriculture and Caring Environment (SPACE)
……An Initiative to Improve Youth’s Relationship with Nature….
Considering the need of the day, to aware, the young students of their environment, especially about biodiversity, GASYM initiated SPACE program, an eco-centric filed education. SPACE program is not limited to age group and to the students of Ecology, Botany, Zoology and Natural Sciences. SPACE is an eco-centric program engaging various resource persons in educating students of different age groups about environmental health and quality. The purpose of SPACE is to motivate the students to improve the quality of ecosystem, aid the students to gain knowledge, skills for the improvement and to motivate them to manage and to take up responsibility for maintaining the quality of the environment and agriculture. SPACE motivate the students to analyze global problems concerned with ecological health.

We thank authorities of and SDM, College for Women for associating with GASYM, and Chief Conservator of Forest Chikkamagaluru, and staff of Muthodi forest and volunteers, resource persons and the coordinators of GASYM for their extensive support

During the time of lack of a tradition for modern research in the country, the establishment of ‘Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science’ by ‘Mahendra Lal Sarkar’, created platform in raising personality like C. V. Raman a colorful personality, a brilliant spokesman for science in India.
Prof. Raman is not only famous for his work but has put India on the scientific map. India celebrates national science day to mark the day of brake-through discovery of “RAMAN EFFECT” made by Sir. C. V. Raman.


The intention of celebrating science day is not just to remember or celebrate the inventions of Sir. C. V. Raman, but to wake-up scientists like Raman, Srinivasan Ramanujan, Homi J. Bhabha, Vikram Sarabhai, Pafulla Chandra Ray, Sathyendra Nath Bose, Maheshwari, Janaki Ammal, Asima Chatterjee, Anna mani, Sambu Nath Day, Salim Ali, Shanthi Swaroop Bhatnagar, U. R. Rao, C. N. R. Rao, and M. S. Swamynathan in every citizens and students of the country.

Dear friends and fellow citizens, let's promise that we never rest under the glory of our past, and we undoubtedly work with the commitment to be “THE PRIDE CITIZENS AND SCIENTIFIC AMBASSADORS OF INDIA and NOT JUST TO BE THE CITIZENS OF PRIDE INDIA”.

Student’s Science Council of Global Association of Scientific Young Minds, in association with Post Graduation Department of Biochemistry, Maharani’s Science College for Women, Mysuru organized one-day symposium on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 on Nutrition and Health for Women Empowerment.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. P. Venkataramaiah, former Vice-Chancellor, Kuvempu University, Karnataka.
On this occasion two books "A Simple Guide to Eating Right – Nutrition through Green Leafy Vegetables" authored by Prof. Jamuna Prakash and Dr. Hemalatha and "Celebrating Pulses A Glimpse on Nutrition and Cooking" Authored by; Prof. Jamuna Prakash and Smt. Shreemathi Hariprasad was released.
Series of lectures were delivered by Dr. Preethi S. P. delivered special lecture on “Preliminary Evaluation of Breast for Cancer”, Dr. Jamuna Prakash on “Nutrition for Women Empowerment”, Dr. Kalavathi on “Gynaecological and Obstetrician Problems, and Dr. Sudha R. on “Cervical Cancer-Symptoms and Diagnosis”,
GASYM immensely thank our resource persons for their selfless service and making this event more successful.
