Private practice has allowed me to foray into teacher PD. I've just about begun to do it since 2021, and I've been loving it.
I've been trying to articulate what my PD must do and not do, given my own varied experiences in PD. I write about it in a post titled, "My Tempestuous Love Affair with PD." Find the link in my bio.
This diagram, in a nutshell, represents what I attempt when I meet teachers and school leaders.
I'm sharing it today just after a meeting with a wonderful school. I might do a lot more PD in 2023-24! 💫
If you're a teacher or school leader who'd like to work with me, find more details on my website. Link in bio.

Can a teacher have a finite set of principles for her teaching? Should she? Won’t the very act of putting something down on paper facilitate dogma and rigidity? Shouldn’t principles be stable yet have space for evolution? How does one show that on paper?
But, if I don’t have anything concrete to call my own, how do I explain my work to people who’d like to avail of my services? Or even to friends and family who are just curious?
I created a diagram in my head when I was trying to explain what I *currently* do to an educator friend as I simultaneously hold this ever-present dilemma.
Interestingly, I realized after making the diagram that it describes what has remained consistent over my many years of evolution as a teacher. It most definitely represents the kind of work I do and seek out today as an independent educator. Who knows what the future holds? If there are changes, I’ll let you know of course.

When Alekhya (Khidkiyaa Art) and I asked our students what they wish their teachers knew about them, here's what one of them told us.

I began to read Peter Bower's newsletters a few years ago to learn SWI. I couldn't afford the classes and resources, and the newsletters are free.
I'm so happy to be featured in the latest newsletter.
DM me for the link of the newsletter or the link to my article.
