πŸ“ Mysuru, May 1: The 2570th Buddha Purnima Vesak Day was celebrated grandly in Mysuru by Mahabodhi Maitri Mandala, Saraswathipuram, in collaboration with the Department of Kannada and Culture, Government of Karnataka, and Vishwa Maitri Buddha Vihara, Ashokapuram.

πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ Peace Walk for World Peace was organised from Town Hall to Kalamandira, Mysuru.

πŸ™ The event was inaugurated by Shri T.S. Srivatsa, Hon’ble MLA of Krishnaraja Constituency, in the presence of Ven. Sobhan Bhanteji, Dr. Kalyanasiri Bhanteji, Shri Sudharshan, Shri Purushottam, shri jikmet wangdus jyothi and all the upasaka and upasika

πŸ‘₯ Hundreds of monks, devotees, and members of the public participated in the Peace Walk.

πŸ•ŠοΈ Special prayers were offered at Kalamandira for World Peace and Harmony. Lunch was served to all participants, followed by the official government programme inaugurated by Smt. R. Aishwarya, ADC, Mysuru.

☸️ The celebration highlighted the timeless teachings of Lord Buddha, spreading the message of Peace, Compassion, and Universal Brotherhoood.

Yesterday, on 18th April 2026, the staff of Mahabodhi School, Mysore had the wonderful opportunity to meet Shri Sonam Wangchuk ji, renowned climate activist and educationist, at his institution SECMOL in Leh, Ladakh.

The staff engaged in a meaningful and healthy discussion on various important topics, including education, artificial glaciers, skill development, and other relevant issues. The team, led by Shri Lutan Tashi Atto, felicitated Shri Sonam Wangchuk ji with Mysore peda, a garland, and a scarf, and conveyed warm greetings on behalf of Mahabodhi Society and its sister organizations.

He was deeply inspired to learn about the service and contributions of Ven. Acharya Buddharakkhita Bhanteji. He also kindly expressed his willingness to visit Mahabodhi School when he happens to be in Bangalore.

Overall, it was a truly wonderful and inspiring meeting. πŸ™πŸ™
