From Mudigere to Space!
Proud moment for Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala  as our alumnus Varruna Setty (Batch 2014) designed the “Indian Space Odyssey” souvenir that actually travelled to the International Space Station with astronaut Group Captain Shubanshu Shukla on the Axiom-4 mission!

Blending tradition with innovation, Varruna used Patachitra art to narrate ISRO’s story — its humble beginnings, pioneers, and the dream of Gaganyaan. This special creation later found its way to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji as part of ISRO’s Pehachan initiative. 🇮🇳

This entire project was part of ISRO’s Pehachan initiative, where nearly 200 student teams competed. Only 13 were shortlisted, and his team was among them, a milestone that continues to inspire him to create more diverse design work in the future.

From Roots to Service: Vidyashala Alumnus  in Indian Forest Service
We are proud to host Lochan Bopanna M S — Vidyashala alumnus (Batch 2013–18) from Madikeri, Kodagu — who has secured All India Rank 69 in the UPSC Indian Forest Service Examination 2024, in his very first attempt.
Lochan’s path reflects quiet determination and purpose-driven effort:

🌍 To an international semester at Tampere University, Finland,
📚 To full-time civil services preparation starting in 2022.

His agricultural studies and overseas stint added valuable depth, broadening his perspective on forests, ecosystems, and sustainable development.

Celebrating Teachers’ Day & Self-Governance Day at Vidyashala

On this Teachers’ Day, we express our heartfelt gratitude to all our teachers who guide, inspire, and support us each day. Their dedication and commitment continue to shape not just our learning but also our values and character.

Along with this celebration, today our school observed Self-Governance Day — a unique program where students stepped into the role of teachers for a day.

This experiential initiative helps them appreciate the art of teaching, the responsibility it carries, and the joy of sharing knowledge.

The day reminded us that while teachers remain our guiding lights, students too learn best when they teach and lead.

We were privileged to welcome Dr. Satish Kalanjeri, an esteemed alumnus of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala and a global leader in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

From the classrooms of Vidyashala to teaching and learning at world-renowned institutions like Cleveland Clinic and Memorial Sloan Kettering, and now serving as Chief of Interventional Pulmonology in the USA, Dr. Kalanjeri’s journey is a beacon of inspiration for our students.

During his interaction, he highlighted the landscape of healthcare opportunities across the Indian subcontinent, the United Kingdom, and the United States, presenting a comparative infographic that broadened students’ horizons and sparked meaningful dialogue on career pathways in medicine.

What stood out most was his message: to dream big, pursue excellence globally, and yet stay deeply rooted in Vidyashala’s values.

The Vidyashala ecosystem warmly welcomes such engagements where our alumni return as mentors, guiding the next generation to blend knowledge, service, and character in their life’s journey.

The Vidyashala Writers' Society in collaboration with Department of Library invited Dr. Nischal Raj , alumnus and a renowned surgical oncologist, on the occasion of National Doctor's day.
He delivered an inspiring talk about his journey from an ordinary student to a focused, purpose-driven professional.

He also showcased an inspiring book by Dr Paul Kalanithi, " When Breath Becomes Air" which was further reviewed by our society member.

He credited Vidyashala’s disciplined environment and strong values for transforming his life, especially in instilling time management, self-study, and goal-oriented thinking.

Reflecting on his experiences, he emphasized the lasting impact of Vidyashala in shaping not only his academic success but also his character and moral foundation.

Dr. Nischal concluded by encouraging students to uphold human values, maintain balance, and strive for excellence—reminding them that Vidyashala is not just a school, but a lifelong guide.

The Vidyashala pathway

We’re happy to share the newly designed utility facility at Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala—a thoughtful integration of purpose and aesthetics for our students and kitchen staff.

This vibrant new space includes a hair dressing salon, upgraded washrooms, a semi-open workers' seating and drying area, ample storage zones, and the serene “Holy Mother Multi-Utility Pavilion.”

The facility blends earthy tones and natural textures, harmonizing traditional elements with contemporary design, all envisioned and supervised by our in-house design team and brought to life with the dedicated support of Kumar Constructions.

A step forward in serving with dignity, comfort, and beauty as part of the Centenary Year of the Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru.
