अभी दो दिन पहले गुजरना हुआ था होस्टल के तरफ से। सुनील अपना स्वीपर खड़ा था मेन गेट पर। सहसा ही बाइक की स्पीड काम हुई और नजर उठी । ताल जड़ा था लंबे और हरे घास खड़े थे चारो ओर सर उठाये मानो कह रहे हों तुम तो मुसाफिर थे पर मेरा यह ठिकाना है। ऐसा लग जैसे छत के पास खड़े पेड़ कह रहे हों आओ जरा मेरे छाँव में बैठ तो लो। मैं गवाह हूँ तुम्हारें अतित का। आँखे डबडबा गई उजड़ी विरान हॉस्टल को देख कर। लग रहा था जैसे हॉस्टल के सन्नाटे से सिसकियो की आवाजें आ रही थी। मानो हर कमरा सुबक रहा हो, मानों हर दरवाजे को इंतजार है छात्रों के लौटने का, मानो हर खिड़की खुलने का इंतजार करके मायूस हो चुकी है और दुआ कर रही है इस विकट परिस्थितियों के जाने का। आश लागए हैं एक वार फिर से उजड़ी वीरान हॉस्टल के गुलजार होने का।
