जैसे-जैसे तापमान बढ़ता है, वैसे-वैसे श्रमिकों के लिए हीट स्ट्रेस का जोखिम भी बढ़ता है, खासकर निर्माण, विनिर्माण और बाहरी वातावरण में काम करने वाले लोगों के लिए। यूके के स्वास्थ्य और सुरक्षा कार्यकारी (एचएसई) के अनुसार, हीट स्ट्रेस तब होता है जब शरीर की अपने आंतरिक तापमान को नियंत्रित करने की क्षमता विफल होने लगती है, जिससे थकान, चक्कर आना और यहां तक कि हीट स्ट्रोक जैसे लक्षण दिखाई देते हैं।
