The School was founded on 10th July 1968 under the aegis of S.D. College Association in response to the demand to develop academic excellences, aiming at imparting co-education under the well guided educational programme. This leading organisation is running a Post Graduate College, Two Intermediate Colleges, Polytechnic, Medical Institute & Research Centre, Engineering College and a college for Management Studies.

The school is housed in triple storyed good looking buildings near Roadways Bus Stand for classes L.K.G. to V and at Patel Nagar, New Mandi, for the classes VI to XII, which follows the curriculum and courses laid down by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi [School Affiliation No. 2130006] and the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathen (Central School Organisation), New Delhi, under the new pattern introduced by the board in differentiated courses.
