CONSTITUTION OF ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
1.The name of the association "VJCET Alumni Association
2.the objectives of the association shall be:
a. To maintain the contacts of the alumni with the Alma Mater
b. To foster the relationship between alumni and the Alma Mater
c. To keep the alumni informed of the growth and development of the institution. To give an oppurtunity to the alumni of
the institution to partake in the responsible task of building up and maintaining the traditions of the institution
e. To serve as a forum striving to get a proper blending of the theoritical and practical aspects of Engineering. for the students of the college. To start new ventures for the benifit of the alumni and the society. To communicate the experience of the alumni with the present students. RULES AND REGULATIONS
(AS FORMULATATED BY THE GENERAL BODY ON 10-01-2009)
1. All the pass out student and present final year students of the collage shall be eligible to become members of the association
2. There shall be four types of members:
a.PATRON:manager of the Collage shall be patron of the Association. FELLOWS:All the faculty members who had served the institusion shall be eligible to become fellows of the association on payment of Rs.500/- or more. c.HONORARY MEMBERS:All members of teaching staff of the collage shall be honaray members of the Association. d.LIFE MEMBERS: All the pass out students of the collage and the final year students,who pay an entrance fee of Rs.500/- shall be life members.
3. All members of the association shall be invited as guests for functions like Collage day,graduation day,Tech fest,Arts festival etc.
4. The association shall consist of the Patron,Fellows,Hon-members and Life memberes.
5. Patron,Fellows and Hon-members shall enjoy all privillages of the association,however fellows,hon members & Life Members only have voting power at the annual general body meeting.
6. The affaires of the association shall be managed by an Executive Committee consisting of the President,a Vice president,a Secretary,a Join Secretary,a Treasurer,seven elected members and all the heads of the Departments of VJCET. The Executive committee shall have the power to constitute sub committees for further activities of the Association.
7. a.The Principal shall be Ex-officio President of the association. b.One Vice president,One Secretary,a Jonit Secretary shall be elected from alumni. c.The treasurer shall be elected from amongst the teaching staff of the college preferably not below the rank of Asst.Professor. d.All classes of members shall be eligible ofor election as members to the Executive Committee.
8. All office bearers of the association shall be elected once a year at the annual general body meeting of the association the neccesary expenditure for carrying out the objectives of the association.
9. The executive commitee shall have the power to incur the general funds of thge association the neccesary expenditure for carrying out the objectives of the association.
10. In addition to the annual general body meeting of the association prescribed in rule 8, extra ordinary general body meeting may be called on the written requisition of not less than fifty members of the association.
11. The funds of the association shall be deposited in a bank as the executive comittee may decide and shall be jointly operated by the President and Treasurer of the association.
12. there shall be an annual audit of the account of the association by an auditor appointed by the executive comittee.No members of the executive committee shall be appointed as an auditor.
13.The executive committee shall have the power to form bylaw which are not inconsistent with these rules.The bylaw framed by the excecutive committee shall be placed before the general body for the approval at the next annual genaral body meeting.
14.the official year of the association shall be from February 1st of year to the 31st of january of the succeeding year.
15.at the annual genaral body meeting prescribed in rule 8,the Secretary shall present a report on the working of the association during the preceding year ant the treasurer shall present the audited reports.
16.The annual genreal body meeting shall be held at Viswajyothi Collage of eneering and Technology Vazhakulam in december/january every year. Anotice of at least one month shall be given.
17.Regional branches of VJCET Alumni Association can be constituted only with the written permission from the Alma Mater. BUt VJCET Alumni Association shall not be responsible for any liabilitiy incurred by or on behalf of any branch. the excutive committee of VJCET Alumni Association will be the supreme authority for thaking any critical decision, even to withdraw the affiliation of the regional branches.
