Greetings to all Pinewood School students, our friends and well-wishers....its been a long time since I shared something. We are very proud and happy to note that our page has now reached more than 125 likes. Some of the likes are from our well-wishers who have not been to our school but, either have connections with Mussoorie or are just passing by our page. Obviously, we want more people to visit us - Pinewood School still lives in our memories.

Sadly, there has been a reduction in the number of our former students sharing and writing/contributing to their memories. You can always inbox me if you wish me to edit the pieces and pictures and put them on this page. Please come in and share even the tiniest of your memories and pictures. We should not let this page fade away into oblivion. I have noticed that sadly some students deliberately choose to stay away from here. Why?

There is a mention of a Pinewood School reunion in Aligarh at a date to be decided. I urge those who are on the Pinewoodians WhatsApp page to come and join us here, It does not matter which year or batch they come from. This page is open to one and all. Please spread the word and tell your friends about this page. -- SHAMLAL PURI, London

On milk with water added to it TO MAKE IT 40% MILK AND 60% WATER and served in the dining room, I confronted one of the servers in the dining room Gajju (bless him) and asked him - why more water in the milk? His reply? "Saab mei kya karu agar bhens zyada paani p*e gayi?" 😂😂 -- SHAMLAL PURI

Talking of memories at Pinewood School - one distinct memory I have is of our complaint about the quality of food served there. In my anger, I decided to call a strike of students to press for better quality food and milk with no water added to it and started putting a word across to other students and most of us agreed to go for it - the strike. The idea was to boycott the meal they had cooked. One student whom I am still trying to find to this date went and spilled the beans to Principal Sir and he summoned me in the office with Sarla Madam also there. Principal Sir (bless him) appeared very emotional and said he was very sad and sorry to know of our grouse. He said to me "I always thought you were a serious student and paid attention to studies and did not have a KEEDA of that kind in your brain." He assured me that he will look into and Sarla madam said to me "We treat all the children as our own and I am shocked that you are planning to do this." Getting Sir's reassurances I said I will not do what we said we were going to do and upset the school discipline. Then whenever Principal Sir saw me in the corridors he would move his finger on his temple (side of his head) suggesting "Ab tumhari akal thikane hei?" I'd just smile at him. -- SHAMLAL PURI
