"Myth, Mind and Meaning" - Unlocking the power of Narrative using the Hero's Journey.

28 April to 2 May. Park Institute, Bir.

Stories shape our understanding of the world, offering us a lens through which we explore human experiences, emotions, and existence. The Hero’s Journey is a timeless narrative structure formulated by Joseph Campbell, identifying common patterns in the ancient myths and folklores from all over the world. It provides storytellers with a powerful framework to craft compelling and meaningful tales.

This workshop explores how jungian archetypes, mythic structures and symbolism, coupled with an understanding of character development - can create stories that resonate across cultures and generations.

Through interactive discussions, creative exercises, and case studies from film and literature, we will uncover the timeless patterns that shape great storytelling.

The first of the open air screenings in the run up to the Mussoorie International Film Festival happened this evening at Devdar Woods, and was attended by friends and residents of Landour and Mussorie.

We screened "The Sensualist" directed by Shubhadarshini Singh and based on a Novella by Ruskin Bond.

It was an exceptionally cold evening for October, but we tried to keep it warm with the company and conversations, apart from the heating pillar.
