📚 Learning Beyond Books — Library Mentoring Support Workshop, Goa 🌴

Two team members from Abhyudaya travelled to Bookworm, Panaji (Goa) from 15th – 18th October 2025 to participate in the Library Mentoring Support Workshop.

The 4-day immersive experience, led by Ms. Sujata Noronha, Founder of Bookworm, focused on building inclusive, engaging, and community-driven library spaces.

From the warm Goan welcome with seashell garlands and songs 🎶 to creative sessions like Reader’s Theatre, Poetry Writing, Book Talks, and Visual Arts, every day offered new ways to make reading joyful and expressive.

Mr. Bhushan Vyas and Ms. Snehal Redkar From Abhyudaya team — also visited community libraries at Aldona, Chimbel, and Seralim, where they observed how children actively manage their libraries — taking book talks, maintaining shelves, and spreading the joy of reading.

As our Director Arati Nagaraj ma'am always says.

“One thing that truly stands out in these good libraries is the sense of ownership and responsibility the children demonstrate — from assisting the librarian to giving book talks and shelving books.”

The team returned with fresh insights and actionable ideas to enrich Abhyudaya’s own library programs — from thematic book displays to child-led reading circles and community engagement models. 🌟
