Thinking Thursday – Ramp Challenge 🏎️

This week, learners continued their ramp challenge by testing their designs, spotting what worked and what needed improvement, and making thoughtful changes to their prototypes.

From adjusting steep ramps to creating stable surfaces, each trial encouraged problem-solving, reflection and perseverance. Through teamwork and feedback, learners refined their designs and learned from one another.

What happens when a story moves beyond the page? It comes alive. ✨📚

Celebrating Roald Dahl’s birthday, our learners stepped into the world of storytelling through dramatics, bringing characters, ideas and imagination to life.

Through performance, they explored creativity, communication, collaboration and self-expression turning stories they read into experiences they could interpret, share and make their own.

Because learning becomes more meaningful when children don’t just read a story, but engage with it, express it and experience it.

Peace is not only something we hope for, it is something we learn to practise every day. 🕊️

On International Day of Peace, our learners explored what peace means through age-appropriate experiences rooted in kindness, empathy, cooperation and thoughtful choices.

Through inquiry, they considered how their actions can contribute to a more peaceful community. Through reflection, they identified the people, places and moments that bring them a sense of calm. And through action, they discovered that even the smallest choices - listening, sharing, understanding and caring can make a difference.

Because when learners are encouraged to reflect, make conscious choices and act with empathy, peace begins from within and grows into the world around them. 🤍

🌿 Roots & Rishtas | Grandparents’ Day ❤️

Some of the most meaningful learning happens when generations come together.

At KED, our Grandparents’ Day was a celebration of connection, culture and shared stories. From creating beautiful torans and making ladoos to music, Garba and guessing nostalgic advertising jingles, our learners and grandparents laughed, created and learned together.

It was a beautiful opportunity for children to discover that every generation has stories to share, traditions to pass on and perspectives to offer.

Thank you to our wonderful grandparents for filling KED with so much warmth, joy and love. ❤️

Thinking Thursday – Ramp Building Challenge

This week, learners extended their STEM challenge from last Thursday’s car-building activity by designing and constructing ramps for their cars. They planned, measured, and built their ramps, applying their understanding of measurement to a real-world engineering task. Working collaboratively, they made decisions about the materials, size, and structure of their ramps as they developed their designs. The challenge will continue next week, when learners will test their cars on the ramps, observe the results, and evaluate how effectively their designs work.

🔧 Thinking Thursday – STEM Engineering Challenge

This Thinking Thursday, our young STEM engineers continued their car design challenge by modifying and improving their cars so they could travel more effectively. They tested their designs by racing their cars and observing how far they could travel, using their findings to evaluate and refine their designs. Learners made connections between designing, building, testing and refining, seeing how their ideas
developed from a simple sketch into a working model.

Through reflection, learners made connections between collaboration, teamwork and equal participation and the success of their team. Learners also identified actions they could take to improve their communication, sharing of responsibilities and team collaboration.
