Step Into a Story – Where Little Characters Come Alive!

The magic of stories continued on Day 2 of Reuphoria – The Festival of Reading, as our little readers stepped into a world filled with imagination, adventure, kindness and wonder.

The day began on a beautiful note with the enthusiastic participation of our Jr. KG and Sr. KG parents, who brought stories to life through delightful enactments based on the theme of the year. Through these heartwarming stories, our little learners received meaningful messages about kindness, looking with faith and awareness, acting with love, walking together and caring for creation. The children listened with great excitement and thoroughly enjoyed every story.

Adding to the literary magic was the much-awaited Story Character Parade and Story Character Competition. Dressed in creative, colourful and homemade costumes, our little story characters confidently introduced themselves and shared the stories they belonged to. The parade was truly a highlight of the day, as the children joyfully walked the ramp, proudly bringing their favourite characters to life.

The day was filled with a variety of engaging reading activities, including Story Sequencing, Magic Bag – Story Pop-Out, “Guess the Story” through display boards, Reading Time and the enchanting Magical Book Fairy. Each activity encouraged the children to listen, observe, imagine, read and express themselves with confidence.

The kindergarten corridors came alive with cheerful faces, colourful characters and the joy of storytelling. Every activity reminded our little learners that a simple story can take us on a wonderful journey filled with curiosity, creativity and learning.

As Day 2 came to a close, our little readers discovered that every book holds a magical world waiting to be explored, and every story has a character waiting to come alive!

A Day Full of Fairy Tales and Fun

On September 23, 2026, the Nursery Section celebrated Story Day as part of the school’s vibrant Reuphoria Festival. The classroom came alive as the little ones arrived dressed as various story characters in a delightful array of creative costumes—farmers, princes, hunters, cap sellers, animals and more. Each costume reflected their joy, imagination and enthusiasm.

Parents and teachers took turns bringing wonderful stories to life through captivating narration. The children listened with excitement to engaging tales such as True Friends,The Rainbow Fish,Eat Healthy and Be Strong, and Bunny and the Magic Garden, among others.

Laughter, excitement and wonder filled the room as the children were transported into magical new worlds while listening to the captivating stories.

The Story Day celebration was a resounding success, beautifully highlighting the power of storytelling in nurturing imagination, creativity, curiosity, and a love for stories among young minds.

Reuphoria Festival – A Celebration of Language and Learning

St. Dominic Savio High School celebrated Reuphoria Festival on 23rd September, with the Primary Section coming alive through engaging, story-based activities designed to make language learning joyful and meaningful. Standards I and II explored stories through cartoon characters, story reviews,Guess That Tale!, the Jar of Learnings, Character Parade, sequencing activities, Bingo, Fun with Colours, music and movement, and reflection. Standards III and IV took language exploration further with Proverbs in Action and Idioms Come Alive, featuring Proverb Detectives, proverb sequencing, thought bubbles, the Idiom Jar, Idiom Machine and Idiom Bingo.

The activities focused on enriching vocabulary, strengthening listening and comprehension skills, encouraging logical thinking, and helping students understand the values and morals embedded in stories, proverbs and idioms. Collaborative tasks fostered communication, creativity and teamwork, while character presentations encouraged confidence and expression.

The celebration concluded with enthusiastic participation, reflection and class group photographs, capturing a memorable day of learning, laughter and language.

REUPHORIA 2026 – WHERE LITERATURE CAME ALIVE!

St. Dominic Savio High School celebrated Reuphoria Literature Festival 2026 on 23rd September, bringing together literature, creativity, knowledge and imagination in a vibrant celebration of words and ideas.

The day began with Bibliomania – The Reading Club, which presented an engaging Reading Tank based on Noddy, while the Reuphoria Memory Board captured cherished memories of the festival since its inception in 2015.

The inaugural assembly, 'When the World Speaks,' invited students to Look, Listen, Choose and Act. Rector and Manager, Rev. Fr. Francisco Pereira, highlighted the value of communication and literature through the inspiring story of Helen Keller and encouraged students to develop the enriching habit of reading beyond their textbooks.

The celebrations continued with a variety of events. Hindi Elocution featured poetry recitation, while Marathi Elocution celebrated great personalities. A Maths and Science Quiz added an interdisciplinary dimension to the festival.

Classic Tales with a Twist saw students reimagine the endings of well-loved stories, while Once Upon an Object brought everyday objects to life through personification. The 21st M. R. Pai Memorial English Elocution Competition showcased confident young speakers.

The Inspirer Session featured alumnus Dr. Sanjith Saseedharan, Director of Critical Care at S. L. Raheja Hospital, who shared his journey and encouraged students to love what they do and understand the ‘word value’ of their chosen profession.

The day concluded with Vocabingo, a lively word-based game conducted over the intercom—a fitting finale to a day celebrating the joy, creativity and power of literature.

Once Upon a Story… A World of Wonder Begins!

The Pre-Primary Section set the two-day Literature Festival in motion with a delightful celebration of stories, imagination, creativity and the joy of reading!

The day began on a heartwarming note as our beloved grandparents visited the Jr. KG and Sr. KG classrooms, narrating delightful stories with warmth and enthusiasm. Their adorable handmade props added to the magic, leaving our little ones listening with wide eyes and beaming smiles.

The celebrations continued with storytelling, drawing and colouring competitions, where children brought stories to life through their creativity and imagination. Teachers also narrated interactive stories, while children eagerly picked characters from the Magic Bag and guessed the stories. The excitement was infectious, with every hand eagerly raised!

The most enchanting moment was the arrival of the Book Fairy! As she visited each classroom, our little readers snuggled with their favourite soft toys and explored colourful picture books. She left them with a magical message: “Reading is a superpower. Make it a habit every day!”

Day 1 of the Literature Festival was a joyful celebration of books, stories and imagination, inspiring our little readers to discover the magic of reading and nurturing the seed of a lifelong love for books.

A Day of Rhymes and Smiles!

The Pre-Primary Section hosted an exciting English Poetry Recitation Competition for the Sr. KG students on Saturday, 12th September 2026. The event provided a wonderful platform for our young Savions to showcase their confidence, creativity, and love for poetry.

The competition was judged by Mrs. Janice Alva and Mrs. Diana D’Souza, both parents of our Primary Section students. Their encouraging presence and valuable feedback added meaning to the occasion.

With great enthusiasm and confidence, the little participants took to the stage and captivated the audience with their expressive recitations. Through clear articulation, voice modulation, actions, and lively expressions, they brought their poems to life. The contestants were evaluated on memory, clarity, expression, confidence, and overall presentation, and impressed the judges with their remarkable performances.

The event concluded with the announcement of the winners amid loud applause and cheers. More than a competition, it was a celebration of creativity, self-expression, and the joy of learning. The day was filled with smiles, rhymes, and unforgettable memories, leaving everyone proud of our budding poets.

Growing with Awareness, Empathy and Confidence

The Second Session of the Emotional Development and Career Guidance (EDCG) Programme, conducted by the Prafulta Centre for Psychological Wellness, was held from 31st August to 12th September 2026 for students of STDs V to IX.

The sessions took students on a journey through the challenges of growing up. STD V explored healthy friendships and managing conflicts, jealousy and exclusion, while STD VI learnt the importance of sensitivity, compassion and kindness. STD VII reflected on the changes of adolescence, including peer pressure, emotions and self-comparison. STD VIII turned inward, developing self-awareness, self-belief and a growth mindset. STD IX explored attractions and relationships, with emphasis on respect, boundaries, consent, communication and safety.

The sessions encouraged students to reflect, make choices, build relationships and approach growing years with greater understanding and empathy.

शब्दांची मैत्री, मराठीची गोडी! Marathi Language Development Workshop for STD 1 parents

St. Dominic Savio School Primary Section conducted a Marathi Language Development Workshop for the parents of Standard 1st on 12th September 2026 in the A.V. Hall. The interactive session introduced parents to simple, joyful and play-based activities that can nurture Marathi language skills at home.

The programme began with a prayer and an inspiring address by the
Primary section Head Teacher, who highlighted the importance of creating a positive and encouraging language-learning environment.

The Marathi Teacher guided parents through engaging activities such as the Rhyme Wheel, Hunt and Search, Barakhadi Sign Search and Picture Description. These activities provided practical strategies to develop vocabulary, word recognition, memory, creativity and fluency.

The workshop successfully strengthened the parent–teacher partnership and encouraged parents to make Marathi a joyful and meaningful part of their children’s everyday lives.

Show and Tell: Little Voices, Big Confidence!

The Pre-Primary Section hosted a delightful Show and Tell Competition for the Jr KG students on Saturday, 12th September 2026. Our little Savions transformed into confident speakers as they proudly showcased their favourite objects and toys with bright smiles and great enthusiasm. Parents also joined in the excitement, putting their creativity to good use by making a variety of wonderful objects for their children.

With sparkling eyes and eager hearts, the little Savions shared stories, described their treasured belongings, and impressed everyone with their clarity and articulation. The room echoed with laughter, excitement, and pride as they spoke about their favourite things.

Kudos to our kindergarten stars for their wonderful efforts! The winners were applauded for their exceptional communication skills, making the event a truly memorable day for everyone.
