We often hear the term holding space, but what does it actually feel or look like in your life?

Is it a moment of silence? A gesture of presence? A friend who simply listens without rushing in to fix?

Share a time someone held space for you — or when you did it for yourself or another. Your words might resonate with someone else 💬

“One gets into difficulties because one is struggling to get to a new level of growth. That is what growth is like.”
— Melanie Klein

Psychoanalysis doesn’t view pain as something to push away. It can be a sign that we’re moving, changing — growing. 🌱

Ever found yourself saying something harsh — and regretting it later?

That could be a defense mechanism at play. These unconscious mental strategies help us cope with overwhelming feelings.

This month, we’ll unpack a few of them. 🌿

Progress isn’t always pretty — and that’s okay. Healing unfolds in spirals, pauses, and quiet moments of courage. Take your time.💛

The mind has layers.

Psychoanalysis invites us to explore what lies beneath — the unconscious — where forgotten memories, unspoken feelings, and hidden motivations quietly shape our lives.

Awareness is the first step toward understanding.

We all carry a younger version of ourselves — the inner child who once felt, feared, hoped, and imagined freely.

If they could speak to you now… what might they say?

Drop a sentence in the comments — a message from or to your inner child. Let’s create a space for connection, healing, and gentle remembering. 🧸✨

“We are all storytellers — we live stories even before we tell them.”

In this month’s , we recommend The Examined Life by Stephen Grosz. A masterclass in quiet observation, the book offers a collection of deeply human stories drawn from years of psychoanalytic practice.

These short essays reveal how the unconscious speaks — through silence, repetition, and resistance — and how understanding our inner life is key to meaningful change.

Holding space means offering presence without pressure.
It’s when someone sits with you in your experience — without judging, advising, or rushing your feelings.

Therapists are trained to hold space. But we can all learn to do this:
🌿 For others — by listening with openness
🌿 For ourselves — by noticing instead of criticizing

Sometimes, the most healing thing is not a solution… but a safe emotional space.

You don’t need a crisis to go to therapy.
You don’t need to be 'strong enough' or 'completely ready.'

Therapy is not only for the moments when life unravels — it’s also for deepening self-understanding, finding clarity, and making space for growth.

Starting therapy is a strength, not a signal of failure. 🌱
