✨ Workshop on “RERA Act 2016 & MahaRERA” at M.K.E.S. College of Law ✨
On 13th September 2025, we had the privilege of hosting an insightful workshop on the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 & MahaRERA at our college.
Our distinguished guest speaker, Adv. Anil Dsouza, Hon. Secretary of the Bar Association of Advocates at MahaRERA and Advocate at the Bombay High Court, shared his expertise on the regulatory framework of the real estate sector.
📌 Key Highlights:
Understanding the significance of RERA 2016 and its role in protecting the interests of homebuyers.
Insights into MahaRERA’s impact on builders, agents, and buyers in Maharashtra.
Hands-on experience navigating the MahaRERA website.
An engaging Q&A session, enabling students to clarify doubts and connect theory with practice.
The session, attended by enthusiastic students and faculty, was both interactive and enriching. Special thanks to Ms. Komal Mishra (TYBALLB) for the welcome address and to everyone who contributed to making this workshop a success.

✨ Commencement of Legal Aid Clinic Activities | 2025–26 ✨
On 23rd August 2025, the M.K.E.S. College of Law through its Legal Aid Cell, in collaboration with the Mumbai Suburban District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), inaugurated this academic year’s Free Legal Aid Clinic at Bhavishya Bharat Campus, Malad (West), Mumbai.
The session (8:30 A.M. – 10:30 A.M.) was graced by Hon’ble Shri Mukul Chitale, Secretary Judge, Mumbai Suburban DLSA, who inaugurated the clinic, and Adv. Saiprasad Dudhane, Advocate, Bombay High Court, who shared valuable guidance and insights.
🌿 The programme began with a warm welcome by Ms. Chandni Vegad (S.Y.B.A.LL.B.), followed by felicitation of dignitaries by Dr. (Mrs.) Ancy Jose (Director, M.K.E.S. Group of Institutions) and Ms. Shiji Biji (I/c Principal, M.K.E.S. College of Law).
⚖️ During the clinic, seven clients sought assistance in matters of civil disputes, property issues, fraudulent transactions, and family matters. The dignitaries offered practical advice, spreading awareness on the importance of legal aid in ensuring justice for all.
The initiative was successfully coordinated under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Sneha Soni (Convener, Legal Aid Cell), with the support of Asst. Prof. Mary Kidangan, Asst. Prof. Pallavi Chhabaria, and Mr. Clinton N.C. Damian (Librarian), along with the enthusiastic efforts of our student volunteers.
🌟 This Free Legal Aid Clinic reinforced our mission of combining academic learning with community service, while upholding the ideals of justice, equity, and social responsibility.
