Meet the UAA Young Achiever Awardee 2022

Dr. Vaishali Kulkarni - Founder & CEO, Kbcols Sciences Pvt. Ltd.

She is a Ph.D. graduate in Bioprocess Technology from the Institute of Chemical Technology Mumbai (Formerly UDCT Mumbai) and is the Founder & CEO of KBCols Sciences Pvt. Ltd.

Dr. Vaishali is a first-generation entrepreneur and has won many International & National laurels for her work in microbial colors.

She recently was honored with Asia's Top 10 sustainability superwomen award 2021 (by CSR works Singapore) for driving positive change in the world through her sustainability leadership.

Dr. Vaishali envisions making KBCols a world leader in space of natural & sustainable bio-colors.

Meet the UAA-ICT Distinguished Alumnus Awardee 2022 in the Entrepreneur Category:

Dr. Vikas Nadkarni - Executive Director & Chairman of the Board, Rand Polyproducts Pvt. Ltd.

He has completed his Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the then UDCT (1969), M. Ch.E from University of Delaware, U.S.A. (1972) and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering/Materials Science from University of Delaware, U.S.A. (1974).

Dr. Vikas Nadkarni has broad Research & Technology Development experience of more than 45 years in scientific research, teaching, technology development, techno-commercial consultancy & innovation management in U.S.A, India & Europe, in the areas of synthetic fibers, technical textiles, polymers & composites.

The focus of Dr. Nadkarni's professional career has been on "Innovation" leading to successful commercialization of more than 30 novel products & process technologies.

Dr. Nadkarni is a fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences and also a successful entrepreneur.

He is a founder promoter & Director of Rand Polyproducts Pvt. Ltd., a SME company manufacturing PU & epoxy resin systems for potting/encapsulation of electrical & electronics components including PCB's, coatings, sealants, adhesives, specialty chemicals & additives.

✨ Mr. Parag Satoskar, CEO Oriental Aromatics Ltd. ✨

🧪He has completed his Bachelor's of Pharmacy from the then UDCT, 1994.

🧪He started his professional career as a partner in Arofine Chemical Industries (ACI), a family owned business involved in manufacturing of specialty aroma ingredients.

🧪 He started his professional career in a leadership role as the CEO of the Chemicals division of Oriental Aromatics in 2015.

🧪 He has led the commissioning of three greenfield projects in the last five years and all of them by strictly adhering to the principles of sustainability, green chemistry and green engineering.

🧪 He has been the president of the aroma chemicals sub-commitee of Fragrance and Flavors Association of India, for two terms.

🧪 Under his leadership, The company has been awarded with the Seven star exporter award by govt of Uttar Pradesh in 2016 & Best exporter award ; 1st Prize govt of Uttar Pradesh in 2021.

✨ Dr. Sanjay Chougule, Advisor to ICICI Bank Ltd. And Member of Task Force, NaBFID✨

🔢 He has completed his Bachelors of Chemical Engineering from the then UDCT, 1984.

🔢 He later on pursued Masters and PhD in management as well as a Bachelor's of Law.

🔢He scaled up the ranks, from a team leader right upto the Group Chief Internal Auditor at ICICI Bank Ltd.

🔢Dr. Chougule is an expert in Banking & Finance and Management fields with a deep
understanding of Economics. He is known for his skill and expertise in conscience
keeping roles of Risk Management, Compliance and Internal Audit, directly reporting
to the Audit Committee of the Board.

🔢During a leadership career spanning over three
decades, Dr. Chougule is also known for his innovative approach and contributions in
Corporate Governance, Internal Controls, Fraud Control, KYC/AML, Vigilance and
application of technology in the financial sector.

🔢For his pioneering work and innovation in internal audit, he was conferred with the
‘Internal Auditor of the year’ award by Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in 2018.

We have alumni across the globe, in diverse fields. But we do not have the data of all alumni. So, objective of this initiative is to create database of UDCT/ ICT alumni and update the data available with UAA office. 🔘 He has been associated with more than 25 companies for marketing including giants like IOCL and BPCL for more than 15 years.

🔬He is a Member of Board of studies & visiting faculty for pharmaceutical management training in premier Pharma/biotechnology & Microbiology institutes/universities across India.
🔬He is regularly involved in training of personnel on various aspects of cGMP and cGLP, product quality review, internal quality audits, and documentation.
🔬He is a respected Life Member of the Biotech Research Society India (BRSI), Microbiology Society India, and a member of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM).

✨ Prof. Rekha Singhal ✨

🍩 Prof. Rekha Singhal completed her B. Sc. Tech Food Engg 1984, M. Sc. Tech Food Engg 1986 and Ph.D. (Food Tech.) 1990 from UDCT.

🍩 She is the current HOD of Food Engineering and Technology, ICT Mumbai.

🍩 She is a passionate teacher and researcher, having supervised 42 PhD and 100+ masters students.

🍩 Her areas of research are food polysaccharides, fermentative production and downstream processing of a wide range of industrial biomolecules, supercritical carbon dioxide extraction of food/pharmaceutical constituents/microbial metabolites, and understanding the science associated with traditional Indian foods.

🍩 She serves as a member of several subject expert committees of national interest, and as an editor of Carbohydrate Polymers, a 9.381 impact factor journal.

💊 Padma Devrajan completed her B. Pharm, M. Pharm and PhD Tech from UDCT in 1980, 1983 and 1988 respectively.
💊 Currently she is working as a Professor in Pharmacy,
Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology, ICT Mumbai, where she is also the Dean Research & Innovation and Head of the S.M.Mokashi Incubator ICT-NICE and
TEQIP (World Bank Programme) Coordinator.
💊 She has guided over 70 masters and 45 PhD students with many more currently learning under her.
💊 Her areas of research are engineering of nanoparticle drug delivery systems, non-invasive delivery systems, and nano diagnostics for human and veterinary healthcare.
💊She is a nominated Fellow of the Maharashtra Academy of Sciences, India.
