Namaste 🙏
It’s been a long time since I posted anything.
Felt like restarting today!

Music has an innate power to soothe, to make someone feel a bubble of energetic balm , which surrounds you when you practice or even listen to music. Especially our own Raga music. Each raga has its own specialised energy pattern , which is created when we call on to the raga with the pure intention to bless us and make us feel its vibrations and the result is nothing short of magical. It is something to be experienced and not explained though. So,
Do music, listen to music and be blessed.😊😇

Hi all!

Music heals….what?
Music connects ….where?
Music speaks….how and to whom?
Music brings focus and concentration…on what??

Please think these are the phrases used frequently nowadays, how does all this work??
Would love to know your thought on these 😊

In ancient times, music was not a means for entertainment only and all 4 goals of life...Dharma ,arth, kaam and moksha were attainable through music...
Ragas are a methodical means to reach a certain mental state and are used for both meditation and healing as each note has an energy attached to it!

An artist never really Leaves!!

Sangeet Martand Pt.Jasrajji left for his forward journey and countless followers and fans of his unparalleled art were left behind who are still trying to come to terms with his departure.
But here is a thought ...when a person /specially an artist like Jasraji leaves ,he does leave behind a fragment of his soul which in some way or another helps the people left to cope with the loss. This is actually in the form of his legacy of art, so whenever we will listen to his Divine " Rani tero Chirjeevo, or Bhatiyar or any other composition ,we will have a sense of him being there conversing through his divine rendering. Each of his compositions have a bit of him in there, so let us pray for his fantastic forward journey ,even superpower up there must be eagerly awaiting to listen to him😊......
A humble tribute to a musical legend 🙏🙏

How an artist/ performer is supposed to behave..is there any rule book?
Attended paddy fields concert which was quite good ,the performers were connecting with the audience and people were enjoying the show which was running behind schedule for about 2 hrs..then came Sukhvinder ...and he was pretty upset with the delay and was showing his anger quite openly which is okay ..people i think understood his point...then he started half heartedly and stopped in the middle of the song and refused to sing as he was not able to get in the mood...we left at that point as it was very clear that even if he continues ..it will be just a mechanical show with no connect neither with audience nor within the artist himself as he was unable to get out of his anger..
That leaves a question ..does an artist has any sense of commitment towards his audience ....should he control and try to overcome his discomfort about any such situation and perform as there are people who have come to listen to him ,not his tantrums or inside tussle...
Can one simply take few deep breaths and tries to connect within himself and his art and starts ..i feel ..he can do it if his connection with his art is strong enough..would love your response..😊

Hello friends,
Some random thoughts about Indian raga system:
In present time we have Komal and Trivra notes which are used in ragas..but if we explore the ragas ,same Komal swar sounds different in different ragas ...so where does this sound variation comes from??...Moreover could this difference be explained /demonstrated in terms of the position of the note in the scale in Shruti values also..?? Should students be familiar with the concept of Praman Shruti to understand the raga rendering in a better way?...
