Our research primarily focuses on the tectonic aspects of shear zones in continental collisional belts. The Himalayan system continue to be the dominant theme of our study since 2009. Significant tectonics research on the Western Indian Deccan Large Igneous Province is also under progress. We aim to initiate works in the fault/shear zones of Kutch Province and Mount Abu Granite Batholith by the en

d of 2013. Our methods include fieldworks, micro-tectonics from thin-sections, paleostress models, analytical and analog models.

**** Call for Chapters in "Structural Geology Online Teaching: Theory, Practical & Fieldwork" ****

I am especially contacting structural geology instructors, at various levels, to submit chapters in a book "Structural Geology Online Teaching: Theory, Practical & Fieldwork" that will be edited by me.

Chapter submission: By Dec 31, 2020
Book publication: March 2021

Springer expressed interest to see the list of contributors and the tentative titles.

I am especially contacting structural geology instructors, at various levels, to submit chapters in the book "Structural Geology Online Teaching: Theory, Practical & Fieldwork" that will be edited by me.owing contents will be accepted: title, abstract/summary, main text, figures and captions, and reference list.

Please express your interest at my mail id: [email protected] within June 2020. I will be happy to discuss in detail and answer your questions.

Background:
The present pandemic has forced academicians and professionals to adopt online teaching. For structural geology instructors, this has been challenging since there are three aspects of teaching the subject- theory, practical, and fieldwork. Out of these while theory can (somehow) be taught online, the latter two aspects through online mode are not so easy and definitely require special planning. There has been an ongoing discussion amongst instructors worldwide, both intra- and inter-department, on how to tackle online teaching of structural geology for these aspects, the difficulties they found in online teaching, and how they tackled the situation.

The planned book will be a platform where instructors worldwide will share their experiences. This will help others to get ready with their online teaching.

|| Call for chapters in map interpretation book ||

We have been planning for a structural map interpretation edited book. The book proposal is under review with Elsevier, and we are hopeful it will be accepted. Would you be interested to submit structural maps and the interpretations/solutions? Typically what we give to students in B.Sc. and M.Sc. practical classes of structural geology. Opencast mine maps and underground maps are welcome as well.
