A Swarna Kamal moment for one of our own!

Congratulations to Ms Sumira Roy (Film Maker, Storyteller, Visiting Faculty at XIC) on winning the 72nd National Award (Swarna Kamal) for Best Non-Feature Film for Bhangaar - a powerful documentary that mirrors the quiet edginess of India’s first old aged couple who have jointly appealed for Euthanasia.

At XIC, Sumira brings this same spirit of storytelling, observation and real-world filmmaking into the classroom, inspiring our ADMA students through her experience and practice.

Here’s to celebrating an educator, filmmaker and storyteller whose work continues to create impact; both on screen and in the classroom.
