Pancham project, Palghar supported by Maharashtra foundation America.
As part of the Pancham Project, Pukar initiated women- and child-friendly interventions in Sawade, a tribal village in Vikramgad Taluka. The project focused on women’s livelihoods through Amla cultivation, adolescent girls’ awareness on menstruation and reproductive health, women’s health and domestic violence, child-friendly centres, and linking vulnerable groups such as widows, persons with disabilities, senior citizens and single-parent women with government schemes.
These initiatives have strengthened awareness, confidence, participation and access to opportunities among women and children, gradually moving Sawade towards greater women’s empowerment and inclusive development.
Recognising these efforts, the Department of Women and Child Development awarded Sawade Gram Panchayat the Third Prize at the Taluka Level under the Adishakti Abhiyan for 2025–26.

'Strengthening Local Democracy (SLD) Project, Palghar.'

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and dream regardless of the challenges they face.

Through the SLD Project, PUKAR successfully facilitated the enrolling of 'Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule Balsangopan Yojana' for 182 children, helping them access the support they deserve.

This scheme provides ₹2,250 per month towards the education of children who:
• Have a single parent
• Have parents with disabilities
• Are children with disabilities
• Have lost both parents

Our work goes beyond filling out forms. From preparing and submitting applications to the Women & Child Development Department, presenting each child's case before the Child Welfare Committee and ensuring the annual renewal of scheme, PUKAR stands with every child and family throughout the process.

Behind every approved application is a child with renewed hope, a family receiving much-needed support and a step towards a brighter future.

What a day! ✨

We're delighted to share that the 'Youth Fellowship Graduation Event 2026 – Voices from the Margin' was a great success!

Eight Youth Research groups presented months of hard work, courage and community-led research, bringing forward voices and experiences that are often unheard.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited, engaged with the exhibitions and encouraged our fellows. Your presence made the celebration even more meaningful.

We are especially grateful to our 'Chief Guest, Amrut Bang, Program Director of Nirman', for inspiring our fellows and being part of this important milestone.

Congratulations to all our fellows on completing this incredible journey.

This isn't the end of the journey, it's just the beginning. May you continue to question, learn, lead and create meaningful change wherever you go.
