TWO YOUNG FRIENDS DISCUSS CREATIVITY- (A TOGUE- IN - CHEEK TAKE ON THE CONCEPT)
Harry: Hey Sal, I have a question for you today, would you call yourself a creative person?
Sally: What kind of a question is that? Aren’t we all creative people in some way or other?
Harry: Hmmm! You got a point, but what I meant was can you say you are more creative than sayyy…me?
Sally: And how do I prove it even if I make that claim? I mean you must be in a funny mood today did you wake up from the wrong side of the bed or what?
Harry: Hey ! Hey.. I think I put it wrongly to begin with. Let me say the wheel was invented by creativity. It was creative thinking that gave mankind the wheel.
Sally: Ok! So let me take it a little further, it was creative thinking that gave us the wheelbarrow. Someone took four of the wheels and made it into a useful product.
Harry: Oh No! That was not creativity, that was innovation.
Sally: So what? Innovation is creativity isn’t it?
Harry: Not at all those are two different words with two different meanings. They may be Siamese twins, but they are NOT the same thing. Creativity is defined as the tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves and others. Innovation on the other hand, is a process by which a domain, a product, or a service is renewed and brought up to date by applying new processes, introducing new techniques, or establishing successful ideas to create new value. The creation of value is a defining characteristic of innovation.
Sally : Dictionary stuff..I get it. But seriously the words may differ but isn’t it, at the end of the day, the same thing? The wheel can qualify in both senses.
Harry: No, that is why I said that while the wheel is creativity, the wheelbarrow is innovation. Get it now?
Sally: Ok! The burger bun is creativity but the whole burger is innovation right? I feel like some innovation right now.
Harry: Can't argue with that let's go to Burger King across the road and continue our intellectual discussion there.

CREATIVITY- PERSPECTIVES AND IDEAS THAT CHANGE PEOPLE, INSPIRE GENIUS AND CREATE REVOLUTIONS
It is extremely difficult to define creativity and box it into a one-size-fits all compartment. In fact, creativity actually rebels with the thought of being compartmentalized and revels in being that out-of-the box thinking process. Because that is precisely what makes creativity even possible.
Many apples may have fallen before Newton encountered his, but that one apple changed everything for Newton and he discovered something as vast as it is basic-Gravity. Creativity can be a moment or the final outcome of a prolonged and elongated process. That “Eureka” moment of Archimedes is another classic example of creativity changing the world.
It is a misconception to believe that all creativity is positive. Unfortunately it is not so. Jack the Ripper was as classic an example as Archimedes or Newton, but infamy was his achievement. To commit a series of perfect murders and leave the world with an inglorious question mark for all time is creativity too. Hi**er too massacred with macabre glee and the human heads in Idi Amin’s refrigerator still send a shiver up our spines. The discovery of a new island or the scaling of a high mountain are examples of creative thoughts manifesting in landmark achievements.
There are many inspiring tales of creativity that we come across in our journey of life and some stem from our own experiences too. Anecdotes, lore and situations define creativity for us in many ways. Every karma begins with a thought. Creativity is thought manifest. It is important to realize, understand and hold that moment. Because once that is gone, the opportunity could be lost forever.

like Modi's Hindutva is overplayed but his hard work 24x7 at his age, is not really seen as phenomenal or even appreciated.
Like it's ok to dissect Hindu thought, religiosity, customs, caste biases by all major TV anchors and intelligencia but not one debate, even on you tube where say Barkha Dutt, Rajdip Sardesai and maybe Karan Thapar discuss political and radical Islam and the connection to the tenets of the 'Sar tan se juda" or justification of destruction of temples or even the Bamian Buddhas.
Like Hindus (intellectuals, political commentators, politicians) have two views on Ram Mandir at the spot but Muslims have only one clear and unambiguous view.
There is visible outrage on Gujarat 2002 riots and reels are available, even after courts have more or less settled it, but no videos pointing out and detailing the state and non state actors of the humongous Kashmiri Pandit genocide. No clamour for justice or retribution. Laughably, 2 recent films have exposed the intellectual dishonesty of the intellectual intelligencia like nothing else on this subject.
Some debate on the 12 bomb blasts in Mumbai but none over the 13th scripted by Sharad Pawar.
Like Radia tapes have been buried deep as so have the tapes on underworld connections to politicians and actors in the 80's and 90's

Jungle ke kuchh janwar ek baar jama hue aur socha kyun na hum sub ikatthe ho jaye aur Sher ko hara ke Jungle ke raja ban jayen?
Chamgadar, Suwar, girgit, saanp, newla, hyena aur ullu mil baithe. Ullu ne kaha-jungle me hum bhi rehte hain to sher raja kyon? Hum sab ki takat mil jaye to sher ko harake jungle ke malik ban baithenge aur bina rok tok jungle ke phal, phool, ped paudhe ka sewan karenge.
Newla bola, wo to thik hai lekin agar hum jeet bhi jayen to Raja hum me se kisi ek ko hi hona hoga, wo kaun hoga ye to tai kar le. Girgit jawab diya, yaar pehle jeet to jayein phir aapas me kisi ek ka naam tai karke raja bana denge.
Saanp bola, aur jo bhi ho hum newla ko raja nehi banne denge, baki koi bane, hyena bola suwar to ganda hai use to hum bilkul raja nehi maanenge aur koi bhi ho. Itne me bagh wahan se guzra, use dekh sab janwar simat se gaye aur ekdum chup ho gaye, himmat karke ullu ne bagh se kaha, he baagh, tum to sher se kam nehi, tumhare dahad se jungle kaanp uthta hai, humare saath ho jao to hum sher ko harake jungle pe raaj karenge.
Baagh samajh gaya aur bola- Jungle bhale hi jungle ho phir bhi kuchh niyam kanoon se chalta hai. Har jeev jantu ke liye yahan bharpoor sadhan hai lekin daayre me rehna prakriti ka neeyam hai isiliye sher sadaa se jungle ke raja hain. Sher chahe to tum me se ek ek ko maarke tumhara hissa hadap sakta hai, lekin wo aisa nehi karta. Tum sab apne hisse se zyada ke lobh me ikatthe hue ho, tumhe jungle me arajakta paida karke manmani karne ki chooth chahiye jo hume manzoor nehi. Main sher se taqat me kam nehi aur khoobsurati me bhi, lekin main bhi sher ko raja manta hoon kyon ki wo kabil hai, anusaashan banaye rakhta hai aur uski doordrishti hum se bhi zyada hai.
Aisa kehke Baagh nikal gaya aur sare janwar apne apne ghar ko laut gaye. Wahan door se sher ka dahaad goonja aur poora jungle maano ek pal bhar shaant ho gaya

WHY GURU-SHISHYA PARAMPARA FOR MUSIC? WHY NOT GROUP CLASSES LIKE ALL OTHER SUBJECTS?
If you were to go by ancient cultural and traditional methods of learning, we see guru Drona, for example teaching archery to several students at a time. sketches and pictures of gurukuls often show young students in group learning shastras, languages or other subjects from one teacher often under a Banyan tree or in a forest. But you will not find a single picture or description even in Vedic period of one teacher teaching music to a class.
Only some gifted people have the skills to excel in music while everyone can go some distance with sheer hard work too. Itis a pity that those who DO have the divine gift do not get an opportunity to train under a competent guru to realize the potential and become a great musician. Notice that Ravi Shankars, Lata Mangeshkars, Bhimsen Joshis and Subbulaxmis come once in a while among millions. But notably EVERY ONE such legend has learned under the one on one Guru Shishya system.
This is the culture I have tried to keep alive for 30 years plus through Musical Education & Consultancy in Mumbai by providing home tuitions in subjects like Vocal, Guitar, Piano, Kathak, Tabla, Violin etc. by deputing expert trained teachers to homes of students for one on one classes.
