While the earliest trees, primitive species such as the Cladoxylopsids, evolved around 385 to 393 million years ago during the Mid-Devonian Period, sharks had already appeared in the fossil record nearly 450 million years ago, during the Late Ordovician Period.

After three decades in extreme altitude, the school was relocated in August 2017 to Nagarze (Langkazi/Nangartse), moving students 500 meters (1,640 feet) closer to sea level for a better learning environment.
