Christmas and the joy of giving go hand in hand. This is how we celebrated Christmas, by collaborating with @podarprep_chembur, @podarprep Tilak Nagar and @tamarindtree_dahanu Tamarind Tree, Dahanu, a unique school started with the vision to change the way we percieve education and educate, spending a day in a chikoo orchard. The day began early with a train ride to Dahanu. We were welcomed warmly by the Tamarind Tree team with a healthy and delicious breakfast. After introductions and understanding the story about the school, we began the farm tour with a range of immerive activities where children touched, smelt,tasted, observed and created, understanding more about nature and it's importance with their senses. The second half, after a delicious lunch was adventuresome with a scavenger hunt and creating collages! It was heartwarming to see families working as a team to create something unique. Lastly the children planted saplings digging, watering and getting their hands dirty. The curiosity, energy and excitement showed by the children and parents was infectious! A day well spent giving and recieveing joy! A big thank you to both Michelle and @hasti_gada07 for making the event suuch a success. Thank you to the entire team of Tamarind Tree for hosting us. A story full day @basilwoodsmumbai preschool, at the #krishnakidscarnival! As the saying goes " I do and I understand" , the carnival was all about understanding our culture by participating in activities which took us back to our roots! It was heart warming to see the parents as engrossed in the storytelling as the children. We sang, we enacted and we listened to stories of Lord Krishnas childhood. Gratitude to the entire team of Basil Woods for inviting me and their efforts to create an engaging day for the children. During my journey as a teacher and mentor, the one question that would be prominent in my mind before I began a class was, How can I create a safe space for students to express themselves freely while they understand the importance of emotions and how to express them.

What is Emotional intelligence? Is it as important as academics?
How does it help a child to be emotionally aware? In a world full of stimulation and information at fingertips, understanding emotions is even more important, as emotions are our super power!

I am happy to share, that I would be conducting a workshop on EQ and music and movement interwoven with stories with Adhyayan Quality Education Foundation.
Join us for an interactive two part session, where we will share our experiences and learn how to use storytelling to enhance emotional intelligence and resilience in children, how to select stories which engage and ignite curiosity, incorporate music and musical instruments into your story narration and help enhance communication skills in children.
