The victory of good over evil claimed 61 noble lives in sacrifice.
The people witnessing the Ravana effigee burning retreated back when they thought the structure might collapse in dangerous proximity from their position: however something much worse came for them.
The two trains which crossed the railway lines simultaneously lead to more these 61 people losing their lives, and hundreds of others being injured.

Reportedly, there was no horn or signal given by the approaching trains, and the permission for the program was granted with gross negligence.
We stand in solidarity with the victims and their families. The meagre monetary relief by the government cannot compensate for even an iota of the loss suffered.
The victims' families need our prayers and the government's aid, may the victims' souls rest in peace.
