It's a true privilege to be scripting the annual concert of Indus International School for the third consecutive year. Their trust in my creative vision and dedication to delivering impactful performances is both humbling and motivating. How does one design a curriculum? What does it take to be a mentor?

In my role as a curriculum designer and mentor, understanding the unspoken needs of students and parents is crucial. Take for instance parents, like Mehek's mom. "I know she is brilliant , with a head full of ideas. Can't stop talking at home. But in a public sphere, no. Never on stage". Mehek, on the other hand, is an introvert who dislikes speaking in public. Balancing these dynamics requires careful navigation. Imagine Mehek’s situation multiplied by 1000 – okay, probably half of it, 500. This represents the students I need to "train to speak."

The process involves walking a tightrope between genuine parental concern and not hurting the child's ego. My goal is to understand the unsaid fears, recognize each student's unique strengths, and make the learning experience enjoyable. By creating a supportive environment, I help students like Mehek gradually build their confidence and develop their public speaking skills without feeling overwhelmed.

In the midst of all this, is continuous learning to adapt, acquiring new tools to engage with kids, address parental concerns, and collaborate with school management effectively.

Half of the teaching is learning to listen to what is said and the unsaid. The magic lies in making your student, irrespective of age, realise his potential. The path is then set!!
