Bombay City District Amature Athletics Association organised Sub Junior Athletics Championship on 21st February 2023 in which Spruha Kasbe (8 years old) won 2 gold medals in 50 mts sprints and Long jump, Vihaan Keny (10 year old) won 2 gold medals in 50 mts sprints and Long jump in boys under 10, Niharika Grover(12 year old) won gold medal in High jump in girls under 12, Prajeet (12 year old) won silver medal in Long Jump in boys under 12, Spruha Maske (10 years old) won gold medal in Long jump girls under 10..
Heartiest congratulations to all the athletes and parents..
Soon the State level team will be declared, fingers crossed…

What a fantastic start of 2023 for Action Sports
MSSA organised Athletics Competition at University Sports Pavilion Marine Lines from 9th January to 11th January in which
-Vihaan Keny secured gold medal in Long jump, and slivers medals in 100 mts run and 50 mts run in boys under 10 and over all he secured second in boys under 10 category..
WE WOUDL LIKE TO MENTION THAT THIS WAS VERY FIRST COMPETITION FOR HIM ..

-Siyon Kasbe secured silver medal in 800 mts run in boys under 14
- Thanishka Krishnan secured silver medal and bronze medal in Discuss throw and Shot put respectively in girls under 16
-Prishti Sangani, Mahi Shah, Janvi Kothari and Thanishka Krishnan secured silver medal in girls under 16 relay

Our own Action Sports coach Ms Dhanlaxmi went to LA school as a guest speaker to share the knowledge about sports, it’s history, technology used in sports, carrier in sports, equipments used in sports and so on and so forth..

Thanishka Krishnan banged gold medals in
Shot put, Javelin Throw, bronze in long jump and gold in 4X100 mts relay in girls under 17
This girl had came way long after major shoulder injury and fall on her head ..
The circumstances she was put in during the competition was not great but that’s what sports teaches how ever you are and whatever situation you are put in you have to give your best and she did it ..
My supporting piller Mahi Shah, Prishti Sangani got gold medal in 4X100 mts relay in girls under 17.

Every year on 21st June we in LA school celebrated INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY ..
Why is International Yoga Day celebrated?
The aim of International Yoga Day is to spread awareness about the benefits of yoga. The International Day of Yoga is celebrated on June 21 every year. The idea for the day was proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his speech at the 69th session of the General Assembly in 2014.
Theme of international yoga day for 2022 is Yoga for humanity . The topic for this year's Yoga Day is 'Yoga for Humanity,' which focuses on how yoga helps people in achieving holistic health.
On December 11, 2014, the UN proclaimed June 21 as International Yoga Day. Authorities said they chose the date because it is the longest day and is considered important in many parts of the world.
The United Nations declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga on December 11, 2014. The first International Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21, 2015.
Action Sports at LAHS celebrated in a following way
Pre primary- Yoga exercises
Primary - Guest Speaker session and performed Standing yoga aasans across grade 1 to 4
Secondary-
Grade 5 -Posters on Yoga
Grade 6- Walking rally and to spread awareness about Yoga in nearby areas
Grade 7- Demonstration on Yoga ..

-Summer camp will be conducted in TFS itself
-Along with gymnastics we will also be focusing on physical fitness parameters for this age group like balance, coordination, agility and strength
