This 2 day training on 23rd & 24th May 2017 in Mumbai is being conducted by Mr. C. Venkatesh, a B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras (1985) and an M.S.E. in Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics from the University of Texas at Austin (1987). Venkatesh has worked for over 20 years in Industry solving problems related to CAE.

15th&16th November CAE course

ASK me Engineers conducted a training program on 15th& 16th of November on the Principles & Fundamentals of CAE and approaches to application in Product Design at its training center in Goregaon, Mumbai.

The course was attended by design engineers from the automotive industry who are involved in working on design enhancement projects. None of the participants were direct users of CAE software, but receive CAE reports from CAE teams: their common and principal interest was in understanding why there is a gap between analyst-predictions and prototype-performance.

The course which focuses on the “Why” of CAE (problem definition, strategy model building, where to look for Data, various software available for CAE, how to evaluate quality of CAE results and ways to improve data required to build better CAE models) was conducted by C. Venkatesh, a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras (1985) and an M.S.E. in Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics from the University of Texas at Austin (1987), who has worked for over 25 years in the CAE field in industry, training and consulting.

Course participants mentioned that their understanding of CAE Processes, the physics, mathematics and mechanics behind CAE was enhanced after attending the training. Sensitivity of design parameters and how effective CAE can reduce cost and time from Lab to Land were also areas of learning mentioned by engineers attending the course. How design engineers and CAE analysts (if they are two different people) can improve their communication to reduce overall process time and cost was another area of learning.
Participants also felt the need to review problems specific to their application (automotive) and the need to spend more time in the classroom.
