Satellite Image Processing Lab under CSRE Department of IIT Bombay

27/06/2015

Hi past students of SIP Lab, hope you are doing well. Our lab produced very good work in recent years with a number of papers in respected journals, and lately two PhD students defended their theses. In the last few years excellent M.Tech. dissertations came out covering diverse areas. Currently there is work going on in the lab on multiresolution image analysis, evolutionary techniques based on ant colony optimization, ensemble classification systems, digital watermarking, and sub-pixel analysis. CSRE is setting up a High Performance Computing system around GP/GPU architecture for working in the areas of big data, analysis of very large images such as UAV images, full scene SAR images and so on which will help the research of SIP Lab. You can contact present students like Shakti Sharma, Laxminarayana, Rizwan Ansari, Shreya Sharma and Suraj Somani for details of their work. Hasmukh Chouhan, working on hyperspectral remote sensing, is approaching thesis submission. I am expecting exciting times ahead for research at SIP Lab. On CSRE front, two new faculty members joined last year and another is joining in the next 3 months. We are planning Geomatrix-2016 as an international event, likely to be organized in December 2016. Your inputs and contributions are expected and welcome. Best wishes, -Krishna Mohan
