Difference between Accident & Near Miss-

Near Miss - An unplanned, undesired event that had the potential to lead to some sort of injury, damage or loss.

Accident - An unplanned, undesired event that leads to injury, damage or loss.

If Near Miss are reported in advance, Accidents can be prevented...

Comparison between Exposure Limit values-
1. Threshold Limit Value – Ceiling :
The maximum concentration that should not be exceeded during any part of the working exposure.

2. Threshold Limit Value – Short Term Exposure Limit :
The maximum concentration to which workers can be exposed for a period of 15 minutes without any adverse health effect.

3. Threshold Limit Value – Time Weighted Average :
The Time Weighted Average concentration for a conventional 8-hour workday & a 40-hour work week to which workers can be exposed repeatedly without any adverse health effect.
