Drivers of solid waste transport vehicles under the BMC are undergoing specialized training to improve road safety, operational efficiency, and ensure secure transportation. In the first phase, 240 drivers will participate, with 20 completing the program on March 20, 2025, and another 20 on March 21, 2025. Organized by the National Safety Council - Maharashtra Chapter, the training also includes an on-wheel assessment of each driver to evaluate practical driving skills.

π¦π Road Safety Carnival 2025! ππ¦
In observance of National Road Safety Month 2025, which runs from January 1st to 31st, the Highway Police Maharashtra, in collaboration with the Thane Traffic and Thane Rural Police, organized a Road Safety Carnival on Saturday, January 11th, 2025 at Thane. The event featured a Road Etiquette rally along with informative exhibition stalls.
The National Safety Council-Maharashtra β Chapter also took part in the Carnival, showcasing their ongoing initiatives and programs aimed at promoting road safety. They provided valuable information on training courses for defensive driving and the safe transportation of hazardous goods.
Shri Prasad R. Masurkar, Honorary Secretary of the National Safety Council- Maharashtra Chapter, shared insightful details about the council's efforts to enhance road safety.

Training on 'Electrical fire- Protection of Lives & Property'
National Safety Council -Maharashtra Chapter (NSC-MC) in association with MCGM Centre for Municipal Capacity Building and Research (MCMCR) is organizing the above mentioned training program.
The objective of program is to gain a deep understanding of electrical fire hazards, preventive measures, first-aid and emergency procedures to minimize the risk of fire-related incidents.

MAHARASHTRA SAFETY SLOGAN COMPETITION - 2024
The Maharashtra Chapter recently hosted the Maharashtra Safety Slogan Competition, showcasing the top entries from the various industries in the state of Maharashtra. This year, we received an impressive 342 slogans from 32 organizations in English, Hindi, and Marathi. The prize distribution ceremony for the winners took place on September 27, 2024, at Orchid Hotel in Pune. Winners were honoured with certificates and cash prizes for their outstanding contributions.
