The Mentorship Program

The Mentorship Program The Mentorship Program is UPG’s newest student
organization.

UPG's The Buddy Project caters to the FY students at Usha Pravin Gandhi College of Arts, Science and Commerce to build, polish their skills, help in academics & all other important aspects. This Program puts new students (mentees) under the
stewardship of experienced, senior students (mentors). The Mentorship
Program aims to instill a culture of service, where mentors selflessly
contribute time and effort towards helping their mentees, who, upon
reaching the Second and Third years, will in turn do the same for
their mentees. Our mentors are enthusiastic volunteers from all streams at UPG,
bringing years of experience in academics, sports, humanities,
management and other myriad skills to the table. This, together with
guidance from our esteemed faculty, will help us push the new
generation of UPGites to new heights. Our mission:

• Foster personal as well as professional relationships between
mentors and mentees that will endure well after they complete the
Program.
• Propel mentees towards new co- and extra-curricular activities, so
they may broaden their horizons and gain a well-rounded college
experience.
• Identify mentees with strengths in academics, sports, arts and other
areas; and help nurture these skills.
• Identify any academic deficiencies the mentee may have, and work
with him to mitigate them.
• Connect mentees with internship opportunities to help them learn
first-hand in the corporate world. While The Mentorship Program was put together with First Year students
in mind, it also provides an opportunity for Second and Third year
students to make new friends, hone their leadership & management
skills, and have loads of fun at the same time.
