Capoeira is a great way to stay fit - it combines cardiovascular and strength training; burns fat and builds muscle, flexibility, and endurance. Capoeira is great for children too - increases physical strength, power and flexibility, gives them courage and self-confidence, and teaches them to concentrate and think creatively. With Capoeira, you also learn music, samba, afro-dance, maculele, percussion, acrobatics, history and the philosophy of the sport. You are immersed in a new culture. CDO in India was founded by Reza Baba Massah, a certified Capoeira instructor trained at CDO Israel. From 4 students in 2006, the Capoeira way of life, today, impacts more than a thousand lives. A day. A conversation. A celebration of culture. And an experience that brought Brazil and India a little closer.

The Centre for Capoeira India as honoured to be part of the Global Impact Forum, hosted by AP Globale in partnership with the Government of Maharashtra and the BRICS Youth Alliance.

A heartfelt thank you to APGlobale and Jahanvi Pawar for creating such a beautiful and meaningful event.

The idea of “A Civilization Legacy” is truly powerful and honestly, one that our country needs today more than ever. To see such a thoughtful idea translated so beautifully from concept to ex*****on was wonderful to witness.

From the curation and flow of the forum to the diversity of voices and the meaningful choice of guests, the entire experience felt purposeful. It wasn’t simply an event; it felt like a celebration of who we are, where we come from, and what we carry forward.

The morning brought a fascinating cultural dialogue, with Professor Baba representing Capoeira from Brazil alongside Padma Shri Dr. Ananda Shankar Jayant representing Bharatnatyam from India, exploring movement, memory, culture and the ways in which two very different traditions Brazil x India can speak to each other.

And then came the evening.

The Crystal Ballroom at The Taj transformed into a little piece of Brazil.

Capoeira. Live music. Batucada drums. Acrobatics. Samba.

A complete download of Brazilian culture brought to life through a spectacular performance that completely electrified the energy in the room.

We have so much more to say, so many more moments to share, and so many people to thank.

The Centre for Capoeira India created a Brazilian experience like no other a vibrant potpourri of storytelling, music, dance, acrobatics, Capoeira and Samba, all coming together on one spectacular stage.

From the roda to the rhythm, from gravity defying acrobatics to the infectious energy of Samba this wasn’t just a performance. It was a little piece of Brazil, right here in India.

A Celebration of Culture. A Dialogue Between Nations.

Centre for Capoeira India is honoured to represent Brazil at the Global Impact Forum 2026, presented by AP Globale in partnership with the Government of Maharashtra and BRICS Youth Alliance.

Bringing together distinguished voices from government, business, academia and culture, the Forum creates a meaningful space for dialogue, collaboration and cultural exchange across the BRICS nations.

Representing Brazil through the timeless language of Capoeira, music, movement and cultural expression, Centre for Capoeira India celebrates the heritage of a nation while building bridges between communities.

As part of the Forum, Prof. Baba, pioneer of Capoeira in India, will join Padmashri Ananda Shankar Jayant, acclaimed Classical dancer, for a cultural dialogue and panel discussion exploring the profound role of culture in shaping education, communities and the world.

The evening will culminate in a Cultural Gala, where Prof. Baba and the Centre for Capoeira India team will present an evocative showcase to Brazilian culture through Capoeira, Samba, music.
