This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone for our department as we have climbed up by 2 positions from last year, where we secured the 7th rank. ๐

A global team of researchers including Prof. Manoj Gawande from Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai-Marathwada Campus, Jalna has developed an iron-based heterogeneous catalyst.
This catalyst helps to convert all kinds of structurally and functionally diverse nitriles to primary amines under scalable and industrially viable conditions.

ICT Mumbai is overjoyed to report that Vice-Chancellor Prof. A.B. Pandit has been named the number one scientist in India by Research.com, closely followed by Professor of Chemical Engineering, Dr. Parag Gogate, at number two, and Emeritus Professor of Eminence, Dr. J.B. Joshi, at number four.
These rankings are based on a thorough study of the h-index, publications, and citations values of over 10,875 scientists from Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph.

โVidynanostavโ is a science-awareness programme (STUTI) organised by the Department of Science and Technology, Maharashtra, in collaboration with ICT Mumbai (PMU), in association with a number of supporting institutes. It helps school students foster the understanding of research opportunities in the field of science and technology.
On the seventh and final day of this weeklong initiative, students were addressed by hosts, college graduates and various professors of ICT Mumbai including the Honourable Vice Chancellor Professor A.B. Pandit. They also had the opportunity to engage in exciting trivia activities and explore the campus, as well as visit some of the laboratories and gain an understanding of the operation of laboratory equipment.
We hope to continue motivating young school students and make them believe in the power of science.
