ICT is an acronym that stands for Information Communications Technology
ICT is an umbrella term that includes any communication device or application, encompassing: radio, television, cellular phones, computer and network hardware and software, satellite systems and so on, as well as the various services and applications associated with them, such as videoconferencing and distance learning. ICTs are often spoken of in a particular context, such as ICTs in education, health care, or libraries.

Serene Banerjee is a Senior Research Scientist at HP Labs India. She works on paper based interaction. Her research interests are in the areas of image and video processing, and optimization of systems and processors. She joined HP Labs in November 2006. Prior to joining HP Labs she was a senior software engineer with Texas Instruments, India, Inc. and a TCAD engineer with Intel, Inc.
She holds a PhD (2004) and MS (2001) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.Tech.(H) (1999) in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. She is a member of the IEEE.
Her hobbies are manifold, including Sitar, Dramatics, and Poetry.

Born in 1954, Mr. Mhatre is amongst the first of the new generation of managers in the IT industry who have specialised in e-Governance.During his graduation,Mr. Mhatre was elected Chairman of the Bombay University Students Council and was a member of the University Senate. After graduation in Mechanical Engineering in 1977,Mr. Mhatre went on to complete his Masters in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University Of Florida, USA.Mr. Mhatre then joined TCS in January 1979 and spent his initial years developing software before going on to head the Management Consultancy Division in TCS.He was the Chief Technical Architect for the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. Currently, he is the Project Director of the MCGM Project.
