Social contribution along with international presence is a goal which is easily attainable by Family Managed Business; Jain irrigation the winner of FMB awards has attained this feat. The company has a presence in over 120 countries, it is truly a global company with over 7000 employees who are foreign nationals. Along with the growth of the company they enriched the society in equal quantum. For a country where agriculture supports 70% of the population, they have developed micro irrigation system, have carried out research in banana tissue cultivation etc. The company has truly alleviated the situation of the farmers with their research. They follow the philosophy of inclusive growth.

FMB’s sure do have limited avenues of financial resources. As per notations some business are built only by the large MNC’s but the winner at SPJIMR’s FMB awards‘ Asian concretes and cements Pvt ltd’ which is Family Managed business has surely walked miles ahead as compared to most MNC’s. This company is in the process of cement grinding since 2006 with an installed capacity of 1.3 MTPA, which they are efficiently running .Managing a commodity business where scale to return matters, despite a smaller size they are performing well.

Friends, all of us look forward to that moment when a voice calls out saying " And the lucky winner is.............." This year during the FMB Awards Function which was held on 9th February, 2014 one of our alumni Aditya Loomba (FMB9), who is based in Delhi, offered a spot prize during the event.
He is in the Business of Rented Cars and has recently introduced in India, the only original stretched Limousine called the "Chrysler Stretched Limousine".
The lucky winner in this award function is Mr.Amar Sheth of Shaman Motors, a student of FMB4. Hearty Congratulations Amar, you have won a complimentary half day tour of Mumbai in the newly introduced "Chrysler Stretched Limousine".

• A Women who has not give despite the fact that she entered a male dominated work scenario of Ship Agency & Ship Management is our FMB award winner Ms. Sanjam Sahi Gupta. . She is the director at Sitara Shipping Ltd, which has completed over 30yrs of being in the business, is a leader in its segment. Ms. Gupta did not deter thinking that she would be undermined or overshadowed, in the long run she excelled and done better than most men. Ms. Gupta is droning many hats one of which is of being Director at the Sitara Shipping Ltd. WISTA is an international organization for women involved in the maritime transportation business and related trades worldwide. At WISTA she is encouraging more women to join the industry and mentoring them to take management positions.
