We celebrate the 47th launch anniversary of India's first satellite, Aryabhata. We hope that Indian satellite technology grow more and more every year and help society in every respect.
Did you know?
Before the launch of Aryabhata, the spacecraft had fallen, which resulted in the ceasing of the function of the satellite's electrical power system. It took four days to get repaired and ready for the launch.

For any space enthusiast, receiving signals from satellites using your equipment is a dream come true. For a student satellite team, establishing your own ground station is a must. To get started, it is very important to know what exactly goes inside a ground station. To make all this possible, we bring to you our annual flagship event, the Ground Station Workshop 2022.
Ground Station Workshop is a day-long free of cost technical workshop where the students of the Student Satellite Program, IIT Bombay, will walk you through the various technical aspects like designing and fabricating different antennas, transmitters, satellite reception, etc. We will also have live demonstrations and non-technical learnings in team management and cost analysis. We are also delighted to have Mr Ashhar Farhan, Founder and CTO of Satellize (Formerly Exseed Space), as the Keynote Speaker.
The workshop will be held on 6th February in the online mode. It is open to all engineering students and faculty, although non-engineering students can also attend. There are no prerequisites and interested individuals can register themselves before 3rd February 2022.

Greetings everyone!
A heartiest congratulations to Mr. S. Somanath, who will be taking over the chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). We also congratulate Dr. K. Sivan, an IIT Bombay alumnus, for successfully completing his tenure as the ISRO chairman and helped ISRO to acquire greater heights.
S. Somanath is an Indian aerospace engineer and senior rocket scientist. He first joined ISRO in 1985 at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram, after his graduation. Before taking the position of ISRO chairman, he has been the director of VSSC, and before that, the director of Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), Thiruvananthapuram.
IIT Bombay Student Satellite Program extends our best wishes to the new ISRO chairman for his tenure and hopes to see ISRO on more progressive pathways in coming years.

Greetings!
From the launch of the first satellite built by an institute in India, ANUSAT, in April 2009, to the launch of the world's smallest satellite, KalamSat, built by an 18-year-old student using 3-D printing, the student satellite regime in India has come a long way. This has been possible due to the commendable efforts put in by these dedicated and dreamy students, under the guidance of our very own ISRO.
To ignite this fire within each one of us, IITB Student Satellite Program brings to you “SPACEPro: Satellites Powered And Created by Emerging Prodigies”, wherein we will be sharing information about some of the Indian student satellites that have been launched into space. We will talk about these satellites, their launching, the milestones they have achieved, and their noteworthy contribution to space research in India.

IITBSSP's first venture into space technology, Pratham, was a completely autonomous satellite designed by the students of IIT Bombay under the guidance of ISRO and IIT Bombay faculty. 26th of September, 2016 was the day when the 8 year-long efforts of our team members and faculty advisors were packed in the small box called 'Pratham' and launched into the space onboard PSLV C35 for exploration.
As we celebrate 5 years of the launch of Pratham, we would like to express our gratitude to everyone who contributed to IITBSSP's 'First Step Towards Infinity'. It is now our privilege and responsibility to carry on the legacy and achieve greater and greater heights.
