Some milestones remind you how far you’ve come. This is one of those moments!

I’m incredibly honoured to be recognised as Team Member of the Quarter at Beach House Fort Lauderdale, A Hilton Resort. This achievement reflects the support of an amazing team, inspiring leaders, and the opportunity to learn and grow in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

A special thank you to SP Jain School of Global Management and the Hospitality Business Leadership (HBL) program for providing me with the knowledge, industry exposure, and global perspective that helped me secure this opportunity. The program played a significant role in preparing me for the realities of luxury hospitality and service excellence.

I am deeply grateful to my professors, mentors, industry partners, leaders, and colleagues who have supported, guided, and challenged me throughout this journey. Every experience, conversation, and learning opportunity has played a role in helping me grow into the professional I am becoming.

This recognition belongs not only to me but to everyone who has invested their time, trust, and belief in my potential. I look forward to continuing to learn, contribute, and push myself further as I pursue excellence in the luxury hospitality industry.

Luxury has long looked West for inspiration. At The Quorum Mumbai, designer and artist Vikram Goyal made a compelling case for looking inward instead, arguing that the future of luxury may, in fact, be thousands of years old.

Our Luxury Brand Management (MGLuxM) batch witnessed Goyal’s collection based on the theme, “The Future of Luxury is Ancient,” offering insights into design, craftsmanship, and the evolving definition of luxury.

At the heart of Goyal’s philosophy is the idea that heritage is not a constraint but a source of innovation. Challenging conventional Western narratives of luxury, he has developed a design language rooted in Indian traditions while embracing contemporary forms. His evolution from “India Modern” to abstract, collectible design demonstrates a commitment to storytelling, materiality, and meticulous craftsmanship.

Goyal identified three pillars behind his studio’s success. The first is material mastery, exemplified by his decision to work with sheet metal and the ancient repoussé technique instead of traditional casting. The second is the atelier model, inspired by Mughal workshops, where designers, artists, and engineers collaborate to push creative boundaries. The third is business discipline, bringing structure and process to a craft-led industry and proving that creativity thrives when supported by strong systems.

Speaking about his latest Panchatantra-inspired collection, Goyal described how he transformed timeless fables into functional sculptures. By collaborating with scent scientists and integrating fragrance into the works, he created immersive, multi-sensory experiences that engage memory, emotion, and imagination.

Through his studio and lifestyle brand VIA, Vikram Goyal is shaping a new global narrative for Indian luxury—one that demonstrates how tradition and modernity can coexist, and how the future of design may well be rooted in the past.

Some queries require more than raising a hand to receive solutions. That’s where the MFWM Academic Committee (Acad Com) comes in.

A brainchild of the students representing the Master of Applied Finance and Wealth Management (MFWM) program, this committee bridges the gap between the academic faculty and students.

So, whether a student feels a specific topic requires additional instructions, a practical workshop, or even has inputs for ironing out daily classroom-specific operations, the Acad Com is here to offer support and provide solutions.

Dr. Arindam Banerjee, our Program Director, speaks with the Acad Com team here, with MFWM students - Aaryan Kandhari, Dixita Tekwani, Priyansh Rastogi, Sairam Radhakrishnan.

What does it really take to make it at Condé Nast?

Luxury brand management (MGLuxM) students at SP Jain Global gained an insider’s perspective during an exclusive masterclass with Sonia Kapoor, former Vogue India powerhouse, who pulled back the curtain on one of the world’s most coveted media industries.

Far beyond the glamour, Kapoor highlighted the grit, resilience, and relentless curiosity required to thrive in luxury media. In an era increasingly shaped by technology, she reinforced a powerful truth: authentic human creativity remains irreplaceable. From championing original storytelling over AI-generated content to emphasising the adaptability and work ethic needed to succeed at Vogue India, her insights challenged students to think beyond trends and focus on building meaningful expertise.

She also spoke passionately about the enduring allure of print, reminding the audience that while digital platforms continue to dominate, the tactile, immersive experience of a premium magazine still holds a unique magic that screens cannot replicate.

The session left students with a lasting takeaway: industries may evolve, platforms may change, but genuine talent, creative perspective, and real-world experience will always be the true currency of success. Take a look:
