We have a problem in our world, of people being too closed-minded and rigid-minded. In this blog, I explain the root-cause of it and the consequences of staying this way.
The root-cause of dogmatism
We all know that the ability to memorize facts is losing its value in the information-age, and this is causing a bit of an existential-crisis for the education-system as it currently stands. But, there is a really insidi...

https://parththakkarjeephysics.com/blog/f/the-real-definition-of-intelligence
We have a problematic definition of 'intelligence' in our society, which is that 'you know a lot of facts' or 'you have a good memory'.
This leads to all kinds of problems, not just for people who have a different kind of intelligence, but for the people who have high IQs and who think they're 'intelligent', who go on to make bigger mistakes with disastrous consequences, because of their egos.
In this blog, I shine a light on the right definition of 'intelligence' and the importance of this discussion.
The real definition of 'intelligence'
In the previous post, I talk about how being a topper does not mean that you are a genius. Now, some of you may have the question 'You are questioning the value-system of the existing education-system. If it is wrong, if...

https://parththakkarjeephysics.com/blog/f/being-a-topper-does-not-mean-that-you-are-a-genius
Our education-system (especially the coaching-industry) glorifies toppers like there is no tomorrow, such that there is an excessive focus on marks/grading. We do this, because we consider marks as a proof of intelligence.
In this blog, I bust this myth and I give an alternative definition of 'genius' that is more applicable to the information-age that we're currently living in.
Being a topper does not mean that you are a genius

We have a lot of complaints about our existing education-system, we understand the problems with it. But, very few of us have workable solutions.
There are solutions that should be implemented on the student-level and the teacher-level. Here, I talk about one such solution to a very serious issue, that is the education-system is monologue-based and 'preachy'. Enjoy!
The importance of classroom-engagement
In the last blog, I talk about the fundamental problem with today's education-system. There, I describe the root-cause of a multitude of surface-level problems with the education-system. One of these surface-level manife...

https://parththakkarjeephysics.com/blog/f/the-fundamental-problem-with-todays-education-system
There is a lot of talk about the problems of the current education-system (it's too theoretical, it's biased towards those with good memory, etc.). What is the root-cause of these problems, though?
In this blog, I give a thorough breakdown of how the system really works, what it's really for and what students should do in this environment.
The fundamental problem with today's education-system
"The education-system is too theoretical" "The education-system teaches us a lot of stuff that we don't apply in the future" "The education-system is too monologue-based" "There is too much of a focus on memorization, wh...

https://parththakkarjeephysics.com/blog/f/the-significance-of-jeeadvanced-in-the-larger-system
There is a lot of talk lately that 'What is the point of entrance-exams? Why do all of this work for years on end to crack an exam, when all of the education is available for free online? Why can't we scrap JEE(Advanced)?'
There are good and bad answers to these questions. In this blog, I attempt to give the good answers and talk about the significance of JEE(Advanced) in the wider ecosystem of engineering in India.
The significance of JEE(Advanced) in the larger system
As we all know, JEE(Advanced) is not an ordinary exam. It is regarded as one of the toughest exams in the world. Some say it's because of the stiff competition against the country's best and brightest to get into IIT, so...

https://parththakkarjeephysics.com/blog/f/how-difficult-is-jeeadvanced
There is a popular cultural belief that 'JEE(Advanced) is one of the hardest exams in the world'. In a society in which 11 lakh students appear for JEE(Main) every year, this is a rather problematic belief to have.
In this blog-post, I bust this myth and I talk about why it seems as hard as it does. I break down the value-system of JEE(Advanced), what it tests for and the right mindset to have to crack it.
How difficult is JEE(Advanced)?
"JEE(Advanced) is one of the toughest exams in the world." "The syllabus is massive." "You have to study 18 hours a day." "You have to have a good memory, you have to be a topper." "The 1.5 lakh biggest toppers of India ...

There is a lot of talk about how 'hard' JEE is and how much 'hard work' it takes to crack JEE. Which begs the question - is it worth it?
In this article, I give an in-depth look at the costs and benefits of committing to the process of preparing for JEE.
The Costs and Benefits of Preparing for JEE
In 11th standard, I was in Maths class in my coaching-class. We were a class of 12 students. Our teacher asks us to brainstorm this one silly (in hindsight, very important) question - Why are you preparing for JEE?

There are a lot of myths in the coaching-industry about how much you have to study in order to crack JEE(Advanced). In this article, I bust some of these myths, examine their origins and talk about a more practical prep-strategy for JEE(Advanced).
How many hours should you study every day to crack JEE?
"JEE is a very hard exam by all metrics - competition, difficulty-level of questions and scope of syllabus." "You have to study 8 hours, 10 hours, 12 hours a day to prepare for it." (I swear, I had a principal in 11th st...
