Over the past few years the society has seen a radical change in terms of choosing their career. We have more or less come out of the shackles of age old conventions that were followed by the preceding generations. This indeed no less than a revolution. We now see people are successful as writers , artists, photographers, culinary professionals, musicians, counsellors , educators, designers .
This world truly now doesn't belong to a handful professionals as it used to be .
However , the what goes wrong with us in the quest of a revolution is we stop analysing and thinking and prefer to go with the flow . Ironically , here many of us contradict the idea of being different by becoming a blind follower.
It is important mail for the parents to understand that the way they should not impose their decision on the children in the same way they should understand very clearly their choice, strength and passion all at the same time.

The "follow you passion" wave has got into us so much that we fail to distinguish between our aspiration and a mere interest.
It is important to understand if we are choosing an interest as a profession, the enjoyment, fun and feeling good factor around the same will be combines with responsibility , work , deadlines , stress. One must be prepared that whatever will not make them lose interest in that particular field.
If it happens then it becomes very difficult fora person to understand the why even after following their passion they are not able to accomplish the same successfully!!

The answer lies in the fact that was that really your passion that you wished to convert into your career?
Think, understand, analyse yourself and then decide . It's never late to begin what you want but that shouldn't be a a direction extremely wrong !

Am I a coward if I have the courage of destroying myself ? Am I worthless if people around me failed to understand my worth.?Have I punished some one else but myself when I decided to detach ? Am I a selfish introvert when my words were turned down everytime I wanted to put my opinion forth?Am I anti social when the society chose to ignore my emotions?
I wish you had once thought that I had been dying inside .I.wish once you had held my hand to say you are there.I wish once my agony had not been termed as overthinking.I wish once I could have thought beyond medication.I wish once my admirers could look at the person behind the fame .
But I could only wish because I had to quit.
You can still save me through those who need you to understand them Those who need you to forgive them .Those who need you to listen .Those who need you to share and those who need you and only you because ..
In the end it would matter .A lot! So much! Even More!

In the past few days , during my counselling sessions I have come across people who have a peculiar view towards education and career.However they are exceptions ,they are a part of the huge crowd who have similar mindset, questions,priorities and knowledge base.The most disturbing fact is that the same values are passed on to the next generation in legacy which is quite evident from the sort of questions they ask.
1." Is BCA more paying or Dietitics"
Like Seriously !! Are these the options to be compared?
2.If I pursue physiotherapy will I have a Dr. Before my name?
Wow what an amazing way to decide your higher study options.
3." What is the average package of Bschools like Symbiosis, Xlri or ISB?
Oh yea if I can even consider these minor schools beside IIMs
4." IITs have great packages. Do NITs even have that? "
Oh yes ..NITs are so down trending you see
5.Can a teacher , a counselor, a psychologist even earn to live?
Well no ..they beg to survive.

Thats where the difference lies with countries like the United States...

No body cares to know about Salary package and placement programs
All that matters is the content of course, teaching facilities, experience, exposure and learning outcome..

The fact is nobody joins Harvard for a package and nobody joins MIT for just a placement ..
So if the parents of this generation are not really interested in upgrading themselves atleast they can keep their obsolete and bigot views away from the children.
