MET Institute of Computer Science conducted the Internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026 on 21st September 2026, with the participation of 11 student teams. The event provided students with a platform to address the prescribed SIH 2026 problem statements through innovative and technology-driven solutions.

The participating teams presented their proposed solutions before the judging panel and were assessed on problem understanding, innovation, technical implementation, functionality, feasibility, scalability, impact, presentation, demonstration, teamwork, and Q&A. The judges provided constructive feedback and suggestions to help teams further improve their proposed solutions.

The event successfully fostered innovation, collaborative learning, critical thinking, and practical problem-solving among the students.

MET Institute of Computer Science organized an informative Guest Session on Microsoft Azure, conducted by MCA Alumni Mr. Sachin Vettiyattil, Lead Engineer – DevOps, QBurst, to provide students with practical insights into Cloud Computing and Azure Technologies. He explained how Azure enables organizations to build, deploy, manage, and scale applications and services using cloud infrastructure.

The session covered fundamental concepts, Azure services, computing and storage solutions, networking, databases, security, and application deployment. Students also explored Azure applications in Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), Cybersecurity, and Application Development.

He also helped students to understand career opportunities in Cloud Computing. Overall, the session was highly informative and enriching.

MET Institute of Management conducted an Internal Hackathon for the first-year MMS 2026-28 batch as part of Aarohan - Launchpad 2026, introducing students to the spirit of innovation, collaborative problem-solving and real-world solution development. The initiative was conducted under the framework of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH), a nationwide initiative of the Ministry of Education – Innovation Cell, Government of India, aimed at fostering innovation and practical problem-solving among students.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr.Nilesh Gokhale, Director (I/C), MET IOM, who emphasised the importance of problem-solving and encouraged students to think differently and contribute towards addressing real-world challenges. Mr. Sandesh Akre, Convenor, SIH at MET IOM, provided an overview of the initiative and encouraged students to think laterally, emphasising that everyone has the potential to tackle challenging problems.

The initiative was supported by the core team comprising MET IOM Academicians Mr. Sachin Joshi, Ms. Dharmishta Gala and Mr. Harshad Savant.

The day-long hackathon witnessed enthusiastic participation as students worked on problem statements, developed innovative ideas and presented their solutions for review at various intervals. The event provided the students with an opportunity to experience collaborative problem-solving, innovation and solution-oriented thinking.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), has achieved a significant milestone in pharmaceutical research and innovation, with the institute and Dr. Bandoo Chhagan Chatale, Assistant Professor, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), being granted an Indian Patent by the Government of India, Patent Office, for the invention titled “KETOCONAZOLE MICRO SPONGE LOADED IN A NEEM HAIR GEL.” The invention focuses on a novel topical gel formulation containing ketoconazole microsponge and Azadirachta indica extract, demonstrating antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties with enhanced therapeutic efficacy.

The patent, bearing Patent No. 601362, was granted on 03 September 2026, with MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), Mumbai, and Dr. Bandoo Chhagan Chatale named as the patentees. The innovation was developed by Ms. Kashmira Chaudhari, Ms. Daksha Chache, Ms. Ankita Panda, Ms. Bharvi Patil and Mr. Aditya Kathale, Alumni of MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) whose collective efforts contributed to this achievement in pharmaceutical formulation and research.
