with Dr Rima Hooja, Director of the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum, Jaipur

✨Dr Rima Hooja has a PhD from Cambridge University. She was a former Member of India’s National Monuments Authority, and a 'Distinguished International Academician' of Minnesota University, she is a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland. Dr Hooja has been Director Minnesota University’s MSID India Program for 12 years and also Faculty Director New York State Independent College Consortium for Study in India Program. She has also written a book on 'Forts of Maharashtra'.

Hemant Mahajan has served extensively in Counter Insurgency Operations and in Terrorist prone areas of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab and North East and has taken part in all important operations undertaken by the Army since 1975 till 31 Jan 2009. He served in Jammu & Kashmir from 1976 to 1979. He was very actively involved in various operational activities during ‘Operation Parakram'.
He has won awards like GOC-in-C Central Command Commendation Card and Yudha Seva Medal. He has been an active writer to Professional Armed Forces magazines like ‘Army War College Journal’, ‘Infantry’, ‘Pratividrohi’.
He is a prolific writer and speaker on National Security related issues and has also published over 2500 articles.

Many theories claim or imply that wars result ultimately from the allegiance of men to nations and from the intimate connection between the nation and a state. PSA therefore has invited Lt. Gen. Patankar to make us understand that to what extent do these theories hold relevance from a soldier's perspective.

During his four decades in the Indian Army, Lt. General Vinayak Patankar has worked in highly sensitive areas of Manipur and J&K to counter insurgency and terrorism. He served for over eight years in the Kashmir Valley.He has participated in the 1965 and 1971 wars with Pakistan, Kargil war in 1999.

He is the recipient of Uttam Yudh Seva Medal (UYSM) and Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM).
