You must have heard a lot about companies merging or one company acquiring the other. But do you ever think about what all goes in the backend of this process? What role does an investment banker play here and how even you can get a chance to do so?

To answer all your questions, we present to you the much-awaited Investment Banking Competition where you get to put on an investment banker’s hat and experience the thrill of the game. After the successful completion of the Financial Modeling Bootcamp, this is the time to apply what you’ve learned and analyze a potential acquisition of an Indian giant, Britannia Industries Limited by an even bigger player Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL). From analyzing both the companies’ financials to calculating the effect of synergies to finally predicting whether the acquisition is profitable or not, this competition is promised to give you a jist of Investment Banking like no other. Winners also get up to Rs. 30k in cash prizes!

This document contains also contains all the rules and regulations. Whatever you’ve been taught in the Financial Modeling Bootcamp is more than enough to ace this competition. Welcome to News Byte Battle in collaboration with Nobias. At Nobias, they build machine learning models to tag financial news articles as bullish or bearish automatically. The first step in creating such labels for articles is understanding what the article is talking about. You will create a machine-learning model to do exactly that!

Your machine learning model should output a short (3-5 sentences) abstractive summary of a given news article. Then the model should use the summaries to rank each stock mentioned in the articles based on how bearish or bullish it is.
