Career Cell is organising a training session in IIT Bombay with the objective to build awareness, confidence, communication skills and ability to communicate impact through interviewing skills of students. These skills will be useful for all students in general but is specifically recommended for final and pre final year students. The training session will be conducted by Talerang, which strives to create work-ready graduates for India, through a unique, experiential model researched as a project at Harvard Business School.
The training session will include 5 modules as follows:
1. Self-awareness and life vision Objective: Understanding your strengths and areas of development and mapping career and life objectives
2. Perfect communication (verbal / spoken) Objective: Hone speaking and listening skills
3. First impressions and etiquette Objective: Learn to build presence and dress to create impact
4. Interview best practices Objective: Hone interviewing skills for impact
5. Overcoming Fears Objective:· Overcome fears of placement season to feel self-confident and prepared
6. a. Skill Interview Objective: Simulated interview session based on functional skills.
b. Fit Interview Objective: Simulated interview session that equips students to answer questions that assess their fit within the company
c. Group Discussion Objective: Simulated test of the students’ ability to think, their analytical capabilities and ability to make their point in a team-based environment
Key facilitator for the session will be Shveta Raina, who is a graduate of the Harvard Business School. Shveta has been recognized as one of India Inc’s Rising Women Leaders (2015) by the Economic Times Corporate Dossier and Spencer Stuart India. Other facilitators for the session will include Apurva Damani, Sinhali Deshpande and Ksh*tij Jain.
