“Significance of bilingualism in leadership roles”

In our conversation with Anshuman Tiwari, Alum of K J Somaiya Institute of Management, he captures the importance of collaboration and cooperation. He says,

“It is important to understand that nothing is achieved without collaboration and cooperation. These skills are non-negotiable for success. Recognising the diversity among individuals, each with their unique psychology, temperament, and perspective, is important. I emphasise the significance of bilingualism in middle management or leadership roles, not in terms of languages but in adapting communication. Addressing senior leadership requires fluency in the language of money while engaging with team members involves speaking the language of activities and tasks. This bilingual approach ensures effective engagement with diverse stakeholders, a key lesson from my experiences”

In our conversation with Anshuman Tiwari, Alum of K J Somaiya Institute of Management, he shares how he balances volunteer work with his personal and professional life. He says,
“I approach the idea of work-life balance differently; instead of aiming for balance at a micro level, I believe in giving 100% to whatever I'm doing at that moment. My dedication extends to both my job and family, with priorities shifting based on the prevailing circumstances. The essence lies in recognising the importance of hard work, especially in one's early career. It's not about sacrificing personal life but understanding where to channel energy for comprehensive success.”

"Seek connections with younger individuals"
In our conversation with Anshuman Tiwari, Alum of K J Somaiya Institute of Management; he shares a captivating glimpse into his key rule of staying up-to-date in this dynamic environment. He says, "The first lesson is always to feel that there is more to do at the moment as human beings or as professionals. A key rule I follow is seeking connections with younger individuals. Their inclination, hunger for knowledge, and time commitment make for valuable learning exchanges. I actively pursue knowledge through active reading, watching and listening; dedicate an hour to audio podcasts. The emphasis is not solely on consumption but on active thinking and reflection upon the acquired knowledge. Rather than merely following trends, l adhere to a lifelong learning journey, consistently investing effort to stay informed."
