🎉 **Silver Jubilee Reunion – Batch of 2000** 🎉

On 27th December 2025, batch of 2000 came together to celebrate a truly special milestone — "25 years since we left school". What a heartwarming and unforgettable day it was!

A heartfelt thank you to our school authorities for graciously allowing alumni to host the reunion within the school premises and for making all the necessary arrangements. Opening up a classroom over the weekend made the experience even more nostalgic — it truly felt like stepping back in time.

One of the most cherished moments was having **Sister Lima**, who taught the batch, was present for the reunion and addressed everyone. Her words brought back so many memories and emotions. To make it even more special, alumnus joined together to recite *"Showers of Blessing”*, beloved school hymn — a moment that united the batch just like the old days.

This reunion was made possible by the effort and enthusiasm of every alumnus who attended and a big shoutout to the **Organizing team from the 2000 batch - Ruby George , Kinnari Gala , Nidhi Shroff and Harpreet Kaur ** for ensuring everything was perfectly arranged.

With deep sorrow, we regret to inform that Renuka Kharat (1994 batch) passed away on 16 February 2026.

We pray that her soul rests in peace and that God grants strength and comfort to her family during this difficult time.

Our students were privileged to learn from our distinguished alumna Mrs. Iona Hegde — Psychotherapist, Wellness Coach, Teacher Trainer, Corporate Trainer, and Founder of ReachOut Counseling Centre, Ghatkopar.

With over two decades of dedicated work with children, teens, and families, Iona delivered a powerful session on Emotional Wellness, helping students understand confidence, behaviour, balance, and the importance of nurturing mental well-being in everyday life.

Her warmth, clarity, and real-world experience left every student engaged, enlightened, and empowered.

A heartfelt thank you, Iona, for returning to your alma mater and creating such a meaningful impact. 🌟

With deep sorrow, we regret to inform that Mrs Sharon Reuben Borkar from 1983 batch passed away today on 28th September 2025. She valiantly fought her illness and succumbed today. The funeral was held today at Worli Jewish Cemetery. 🙏🙏

We pray that her soul rest in peace and that God grant her family strength during this difficult time.

As part of the celebrations of 50 years of SMC, a religious service will be held on Thursday Dec 12, 7.00 pm at St Pius X Church, Mulund West.
The mass will be celebrated by His Eminence, Cardinal Oswald Gracias.

Teachers and ex-students are invited to attend.

----------Golden Jubilee Celebration Update ----

Hello Everyone!

We received an enthusiastic string of comments and messages to our last post, asking for a celebration with all our alumni on the occasion of Golden Jubilee of the school.
The idea to have a fun-fair sort of re-union seemed like one that would spark the best vibe for the occasion.

We've spoken to the school and have been given a date of Sat Feb 1, '25 between 9.30 am and 2.30 pm for this event.

Now the action must begin... and this is possible only if we have a great organising team and some committed volunteers. Dear Teachers, we would love for you to join us too.
We have scheduled a Google Meet call on Dec 3 @ 9.00 pm IST to brainstorm and take this forward. Link shared below.

The school is planning to have it’s Golden Jubilee celebration on the school grounds on Friday Dec 13, 2024, 5.00 pm onwards.

While the school would love to accommodate everyone, there is a space constraint and hence there are limited seats available to alumni.

Once again it’s time to reminisce together
As we bid farewell teary-eyed
To yet another teacher, a motherly figure,
Our brilliant history and geography guide.

Our beloved teacher Mrs Tressa Joseph, aged 79 years, passed away on 8 November at her residence in Mulund.
She taught many of us Social Studies between 1985 and 2005. We remember her fondly especially for her gentle mannerisms and soft spoken nature.

Funeral details:
Viewing at St. Pius X Church, Mulund on 11 November at 3.30 pm followed followed by mass at 4 pm and burial at Mulund East Cemetery thereafter.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Those were such crazy yet special days!

Mrs. Sitalakshmi Krishnaswamy, our ever smiling and loving Swami Miss passed away on 5th November 2024 at her residence in Chennai. She was 80 years. During her tenure at SMC from 1977 to 1999, so many of us were privileged to have known her and been taught by her.

May her soul rest in eternal peace!
