Middle mesial canal
How to search for middle mesial canal
1) most commonly found in YOUNG lower molar.
Most commonly lower 6
Always prepare mb and ml first
2) clean the isthmus between mesiobuccal and mesiolingual canal really well.
While preparing both canals lot of debris accumulate in the isthmus. Use edta to clean the debris really well. (Liquid or gel EDTA can be used)
Now with a sharp probe (DG16) walk the probe in the isthmus to find a catch between mb and ml
Trough that area well with small safety tip bur. You can use endo guide bur
Now with a 10 number k file precurved, lubricated , prepare the mm canal .
Now ,
Check with gp points in mb and ml and placing a 10 k file in mm weather it is merging with either or both canals.
Prepare till the point of merger

Mandibular canine with two canals .
How to check for second canal in mandibular anterior teeth and premolars:
1) angulated radiographs. 40 degree angulated radiographs help.
2) widen the access gently without much damage to tooth structure in the cingulum area with endoguide bur And for premolars towards lingual cups
3) check with DG 16 probe for presence of extra canal towards lingual.
4) With precurved 10 k file explore the canal.
