I feel very humbled sharing this inspiring verses by an absolute gentle and down to earth artist .aziz.3785 performed during that embodies one of the most memorable moment of my 2 years TISS journey.
TISS has not only been grateful enough to accommodate me, but has shaped me in various ways.
Always always grateful for this journey.

"India of our ruins"
So this is the artwork that I made during yesterday's live session at TISS, Mumbai
This picture represents the current state of socio-political affairs in the country. The state violence against protestors and the way the the centre is handling things is respresented in this piece of work. Also, I have tried to highlight the paid media that is working to sway public emotions at large.

Is art elitist? Questioning the boundaries of what counts as art and skill, rap as a form of music is here and is here to stay, and to destabilise our internalised content with what doesn’t cause chaos.

Songs of hip hop are built on personal experiences, and have historically created a platform for voices of cultures and people that have been ghettoised. In this light, *LEARN* is here to rejuvenate us with beats from the gully while also dismantling and making us unlearn what we think the gully portrays.

Art has added layers to the ways of life; in performance; in expression; in revolution.

This Quitissence - Art Beyond Borders, we uncover the layers of art itself and understand that which has paved ways for understanding oneself.

It all started with a ballad. A ballad that expresses the pain of a fellow Indian. His taste in Urdu—taking the blues style of American folk and mixing its aura to form fluent expressive music, Aamir Aziz (.aziz.3785 ) has been a part of the journey where art travels beyond boundaries and expresses itself in a form of resistance.

Quintissence 2020 welcomes you all to an evening of music and poetry, wrapped in the flavour of life and freedom.

Parvaaz's sound has often been described as one that transcends musical genres taking the listener into spaces that traverse folk, blues and psychedelia, wrapped in an ambient sound that is familiar yet elusive.

As a part of Quintissence 2020, we present an acoustic session with the two band members of *Parvaaz* on 17 January.

Khalid Ahamed (Vocals & Guitar), Mir Kashif Iqbal (Guitars & Vocals) of Parvaaz will be with us on 17th of January 2020 at 8:30 PM in Amphitheater.

Let's embrace the beauty of the graceful music and the beats of the acoustics in an evening full of life and beyond with music of Parvaaz ♥
