TilakVir Kapoor of class 3B won the Silver Medal at the prestigious HCL Southern Slam Squash Championships 2024 in Chennai, which had participants across Asia and India.
TilakVir, at only 9 years, was the youngest player to reach the finals by defeating the Top Ranked players across Asia and India, including those elder and higher ranked than him. In the finals, TilakVir fought hard against the No. 1 seed!! Congratulations 🥈👏

Aarush Khanna, of class 4A has participated in the MSLTA - U10 Lawn Tennis boys singles in Pune on this weekend and secured Winner position in the Finals today. He beat the top seed Shlok Aland in the semi finals and then beat Aarush Deshpande in the finals. Congratulations 🙌

Apoorv Gupta (10A) and Sudarshan Manikantan (9A) of Team DAIS were one of 4 teams of the Indian Contingent that were selected by ISDS (Indian Schools Debating Society) to participate at the Finals Day of ICYD (International Competition for Young Debaters) at Oxford University, UK.
The ICYD is the World’s most prestigious British Parliamentary Debate competition for U15, hosted by Oxford Union and Cambridge Union alternatingly. The Finals Day was held at the Grand Chambers of Oxford Union on 20th April. After four rounds of debating, Team DAIS defeated other high school teams from London, Korea, Canada, etc, and qualified for the ESL Finals. Sudarshan Manikantan bagged the Best Overall Speaker and the Best ESL Speaker award, whereas Apoorv Gupta won the Second Best Overall Speaker and the Second Best ESL Speaker award. Congratulations 🙌

Kabir Khubchandani of clsss 6B, participated in The G.M.A.A.A Annual Sub Junior & Junior Aquatic Meet 2024 which was conducted from the 31st of May to the 2nd of June 2024 at the Somaiya Sports Academy. Kabir swam in the Boys Group II division (Ages 12 to 14 years) and earned a total tally of 5 individual medals in the following events: 1) 400mt Individual Medley - Gold 2) 200mt Individual Medley - Silver 3) Freestyle 800mt - Silver 4) Freestyle 400mt - Bronze 5) Freestyle 200mt - Bronze In the 4X50mt Freestyle & Medley relays, Kabir and his teammates won a Gold in each. 🎉 Congratulations to Rounaiv Rana of Class VII B for his recent chess achievements in Mumbai! At the 4th Aavhan Open Rapid Rating Chess Tournament, Rounaiv won 3rd place in the U16 category and was one of the youngest among 530 players to score 7/7 on day 2. He also secured 3rd place at the Ashtavinayak Group Thakur College Chess Tournament and clinched 1st place in the U14 category at the Elite Willingdon Gymkhana Chess Tournament, earning trophies and cash prizes. 🌟

Class V learners visited the Jai Vakeel Foundation which provides education and vocational training to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This training helps to pave the way for their integration into normal life. The visit was not just about observing: it was about learning, connecting and understanding the needs of others. Our students left the center feeling inspired, grateful, and determined to propagate inclusivity and equal opportunities for all.

The learners of UKG embarked on an insightful learning experience visiting the POP Art exhibit at the Art House at NMACC. Building on the exploration of their current Unit of Inquiry, the learners used this opportunity to delve further into unpacking their Central Idea ‘Colours Convey Ideas and Emotions’. The thought-provoking exhibits helped the learners to gain understanding of differing perspectives as they reflected on each of the Art pieces and sculptures they saw.
