KRVIA Masters + Under graduate
The ENSAS (Strasbourg National School of Architecture) + KRVIA exchange program that focuses on Complex densities as a comparative study of urban villages in Mumbai and Strasbourg France began its first leg with a weekly online course. The second leg and third leg of the course are on-site studies in Mumbai and France in the months of November and January. Sixteen students from France and twenty students from Mumbai will be participating in this exchange. Students from KRVIA are from the third, fourth, fifth-year, and first & second-year masters programs.

KRVIA Masters first year Archaeology field day trip was organised on the 2nd October, with faculty archaeologist Andre Baptista at Our lady of Grace Church, Sopara Stupa, chakreshwar mandir, holy cross church Nirmal, Adi Shankaracharya Mandir and Vasai Fort.
The visit addressed the shaping of socio-cultural spaces of Vasai/Sopara through integrated historical and cultural geographies.

IDEAtlas Workshop - Mumbai Living Lab
Krvia Masters Program in collaboration with ITC, University of Twente hosted the first interactive workshop for the IDEAtlas project. The primary objective of IDEAtlasis to develop, implement, validate and showcase advanced AI-based
methods to automatically map and characterize the spatial extent of slums from Earth Observation
(EO) data. This will support national and local governments as well as civil society to monitor progress
on SDG indicator 11.1.1 on the proportion of the urban population living in slums, informal
settlements or inadequate housing.
Multiple experts were invited to be part of the workshop to discuss the ideas of Informal settlement mapping through focused group discussions. Each group summarized the findings from the discussion which faciltated exchange of ideas and thoughts between groups, students and facilitators.

Semester 4 Exhibition Invite

A documentation & regional study.
This year the Semester 4 studio locates itself in the erstwhile princely state of Alwar where students documented 8 nodes along an axis in the city. The study deploys various tools of documentation in the field, to study architectural objects and their relationships to region and city through history. The study was conducted to build a holistic understanding of material, history, urban form, and ecology.
