The International Institute of Sports & Management (IISM) is a pioneer in sports management education. Founded by the Former Indian Cricketer Mr. Nilesh Kulkarni, IISM is the first Sports Management Institute in India & across Asia. In collaboration with the University of Mumbai & Garware Institute of Career Education and Development (GICED), our institute offers UG and PG programs in Sports Management & Sports Science. From picking up badminton as a hobby in the school summer camp to striving to become an profession player — Anandita Tamra's on-court journey has made her evolve both as an individual & an athlete.

Idolizing the iconic PV Sindhu, she understands that succeeding in badminton 🇮🇳🥇 needs more than just talent: consistency, discipline & resilience during failures.

On the solid foundation of the support from her parents, Anandita is also managing her academic career, pursuing Sports Management at IISM. 🎯

Medals raining for Vanshik Kapadia in the World Pickleball Championship - WPC 2026! 🥇 🏆

After clinching a gold & two silvers in the Kuala Lumpur leg of the World Pickleball Championship 2026, Vanshik has once again struck a double Gold in Men's Doubles & Mixed Doubles in Bali.

He is on a roll and we at IISM are extremely proud of his exploits on the pickleball court.

Another Day, Another Marathon & IISM students learning on-ground - an evergreen story! 🏃‍♂️

The Saviorthon 10K - Run For Nature was a flagship environmental awareness initiative organised by 4Memories Events in association with Saksham Social Trust.

This marathon saw our aspiring sports professionals gain crucial understanding how such sporting events are organized. This is the kind of practical exposure which shapes these youngsters' communication and coordination and grooms them for leadership and teamwork.

And that's exactly what we at IISM aim for while grooming these students as future sports managers. 🎓

Burpees? Wall Balls? Sled Pushes? IISM students had a different kind of workout. 🏋️‍♂️⚡

At HYROX India 2026, our students experienced the intensity of a race format that combines running with functional fitness, from the 1 km runs to stations like the SkiErg, Sled Push, Sled Pull, Burpee Broad Jumps, Rowing, Farmers Carry, Sandbag Lunges and Wall Balls.

But for our students, there was another race happening behind the race, understanding the people, pace, pressure and operations that bring a large-scale sporting event to life.

No simulations. ❌
No sitting on the sidelines. 🚫
Just learning by doing, the IISM way. 💯🎓

The nerves are kicking in, the team is ready, the crowd is waiting… and somewhere in between, you hear:
“Ganpati Bappa Morya!” 🙏🕉️

Because every sporting moment comes with a little bit of belief, a whole lot of hard work, and sometimes, a little Bappa magic. 🪄

What can a 20-year-old do to build a career in motorsports? Turns out, a lot. 🏁🏎‍🟀💨

Ishaan Bhataiya, a motorsports and action sports photographer, spoke to us about his experience so far and shared an insightful look into his journey.

The conversation covered what it takes to start a career in motorsports, how F1 has expanded through its IPs, and the importance of balancing theory with on-ground exposure. 🏎‍🟀

"Choosing IISM was like hitting the jackpot." 💰

That's how Adit Waikul, a Bachelor of Sports Management student at IISM 🎓, describes his journey.

He chose sports management because he wanted to turn his passion for sports into a profession. Along the way, he found opportunities that made the experience even more meaningful.

The Sports Debate became one of his favourite experiences, giving him a platform to share his opinions with fellow sports enthusiasts and professors. ❤️

One of his proudest memories was being a founding member of Game Time Banter, a platform covering the latest in sports through humour, long-form discussions, and short-form videos. 🎥

It also gave him hands-on experience in understanding how a sports show is produced and edited.

His advice?
"This is a golden period because sports is booming. If sports is something you love, don't ever have any second thoughts about it."

Five Editions. One Purpose: Measuring the Impact of Sport. 📊🏃‍♂️

The TATA Mumbai Marathon 2026 Impact Report, initiated by Procam International in collaboration with IISM, was unveiled on 8 September 2026, marking the culmination of the fifth edition of this research initiative.

The Report was successfully launched in the dignified presence of several guests including,

Mr. Burzin Mehta, Ms. Rhea Mistry, Ms. Akshata Pai from TCS, and Mr. Harshad Jain, Ms. Melanie Carvalho from IDFC First Bank, also graced this launch.

From 2020 → 2023 → 2024 → 2025 → 2026, IISM has successfully completed its 5th
edition of this research, working closely with faculty and student researchers and taking the research from the classroom to the ground.

For the 2026 edition, 4,600+ responses were collected across runners and key stakeholders, providing a rich and robust dataset to understand the marathon’s impact across health, social, economic and sustainability dimensions.

A heartfelt thank you to Procam International for trusting IISM with this research journey, year after year, and to Mr. Vivek Singh, Mr. Anil Singh, Mr. Kevin Pereira and Mr. Anurag Tiwari for their constant support and collaboration.

And most importantly, a big shout-out to our IISM faculty and student research teams who have been at the heart of this initiative. 👏🎓

August was one of those months where something was always happening at IISM. 😊

One day we were celebrating Independence Day, the next we were bringing in the colours of Rang Onam. There were debates, indoor sports, big ideas at SportsBizEdu 3.0, masterclasses with industry experts and plenty of opportunities for our students to step out and experience the sports industry.🎉🏆

And of course, there were moments that made us stop and feel incredibly proud. 😇

So yes, fitting everything August had to offer into one video was definitely a task.

But here’s our attempt at rewinding a month that was packed with learning, laughter, celebrations and everything in between.🎬

If this is how the months ahead are looking, we’d suggest staying tuned. 🙌

After bringing home three medals from an earlier international championship, our Bachelor of Sports Management student is back on the global podium, this time at the World Pickleball Championship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!
